The Novice Training is the second level in Pikmin 2s Challenge Mode. The captains will have White Pikmin at their disposal when they start the level. It is slightly harder than the Explorer's Cave, but Olimar and Louie won't lose that much Pikmin if the captains pay attention to the Doodlebugs that are present in this cave if Purple Pikmin are in their group.

An extremely simple sublevel. The only 'hazards' are a single Doodlebug and a few poison emitters; given how your squad consists of White Pikmin, they are at no risk. If you simply want to finish the level as soon as possible, ignore everything else, locate the Key and assign Pikmin to it. If you want to go for a high score, it's recommended to convert some of your White Pikmin into Purple Pikmin; both to facilitate carrying treasures and to make looting the three beetles easier. The Iridescent Glint Beetle is particularly important as the Lustrous Element will add 1,000 points to your score.

Make sure to break the poison emitters to ensure the safety of any Purple Pikmin created. Breaking the eggs for nectar is also recommended.

Another simple sublevel. The Key is inside the Puffy Blowhog – even if you're aiming for a high score, you'll want to find and kill it immediately to prevent potential annoyance. Almost every treasure on this sublevel is buried, apart from the three inside beetles. Swarm your White Pikmin squad around to find all of it. Keep your Purple Pikmin close, as Mitites may crawl out of the ground – throw a Purple Pikmin at them to prevent them from panicking your squad. Don't forget to transport their corpses back if you're squeezing out as many points as you can.

Again, the Glint Beetle should be prioritized if going for a high score, as it will drop another Lustrous Element.

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

The Novice Training is the second level in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode and is automatically unlocked with the mode. Since the only harmful hazard in this level is poison, and the player has White Pikmin, a pink flower is nearly guaranteed.

Sublevel 1Edit
