Brawny Abyss (鉄人の穴?, lit.: "Hole of Strong-as-Iron People") is the seventh level in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode. This challenge notably features several cannon beetles – clever use of their boulders can dramatically simplify the challenge by taking out the other enemies.

The Key is inside the buried Armored Cannon Beetle Larva, but don't kill it immediately. Instead, use its boulders to kill the other enemies to simplify your job. Be careful when fighting it, as it may potentially buck Pikmin off the level and into the abyss if you're unlucky with its positioning. Once the sublevel is empty, collect all the treasure if you wish before proceeding.

The Decorated Cannon Beetle has The Key. If you still have your ultra-bitter spray, petrifying it will make for an extremely quick battle. However, you may wish to use its homing boulders to kill the other enemies – or the cannon beetle itself – first. Whatever the case, once everything is dead, you're free to collect the remaining treasures before leaving.
