The Gyroid Bust is a treasure found in Pikmin 2. It can be found on the last (7th) sublevel of the Bulblax Kingdom, and can be acquired right after the Emperor Bulblax is defeated. The leader will need the Scorch Guard which is obtained by bringing the Forged Courage from the Bulblax to the ship. The leaders will then be able to guide the Red Pikmin to the treasure without fear of being damaged by fire geysers.
This treasure is actually a haniwa, resembling the ones found in Animal Crossing and its sequels. In the Animal Crossing games, the items are called "Gyroids".
Notes
Olimar's journal
“My son tells me that this type of figurine is all the rage with the kids. The strangest things amuse kids! When I was a kid, we were lucky if we were allowed to even talk about figurines! PS: When I found this figurine, it had been placed so that it was protected by a wall of flame. My research isn't complete, but I think it may have been a shrine of some kind.”
Sales pitch
“This looks exactly like the gyroids that have become so popular on planet Hocotate. Its pitiful expression is beloved by the Hocotate youth.”

Trivia
- Haniwa are often buried with the dead or set on a mound near the grave. The fact that it is buried deep within the Bulblax Kingdom suggests that this cave was a tomb.
