The Abstract Masterpiece (宇宙一アート?, lit.: "Universally Best Art") is a treasure in Pikmin 2. In the Nintendo Switch version, it is an unbranded yellow juice lid, and is found on sublevel 6 of the Shower Room. In the North American GameCube/Wii version, it is a Snapple juice lid, found on sublevel 6 of the Shower Room. In the European GameCube/Wii version, it is a PscHitt! bottle cap, and is located overground in the Perplexing Pool. In the Japanese GameCube/Wii version, it is a Kyoshin-brand milk cover, and is found on sublevel 11 of the Dream Den. The treasure's name reflects how both Olimar and the Hocotate ship see the treasure as a sensationally evocative work of art.

The text on the treasure in the Nintendo Switch version reads:

SAFETY BUTTON POPS WHEN SEAL IS OPEN

SUNNY TROPICAL JUICE

MADE FROM THE BEST NATURAL FRUIT

The text on the treasure in the North American GameCube/Wii version reads:

SAFETY BUTTON POPS UP WHEN

ORIGINAL SEAL IS BROKEN

Snapple®

REJECT IF BUTTON IS UP

Collecting the treasure[edit]

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

Nintendo Switch and North American GameCube/Wii versions[edit]

This treasure is found on the sixth sublevel of the Shower Room. Common locations are in a low stone arch underwater, behind a gate, or in one of the alcoves on either side of the long gray path. It may get picked up by the Munge Dweevils or Anode Dweevils in the sublevel. Other enemies to contend with are Dwarf Orange Bulborbs, a Wollywog, a Bumbling Snitchbug, and an Orange Bulborb.

In the European GameCube/Wii version, the Plentiful Tank is found in this location, and in the Japanese GameCube/Wii version, the Estimated Object GF.

European GameCube/Wii version[edit]

This treasure is located near the Citadel of Spiders, and is near an electric gate surrounded by water, making a volatile combination. First, defeat any Yellow Wollyhops and Shearwigs in the way. If the Dwarf Bulbears are there, take them out, too. Build the bridge near the stump found next to the Citadel of Spiders, then throw Yellow Pikmin over the wall to where the electric gate is. Alternatively, it is possible to throw Yellow Pikmin over the electric gate from across the water, with a running start for each throw, or a small number can be led along a root in the water on the left of the gate, then thrown over the wall easily. Let them tear it down and let Blue Pikmin carry it back to the ship.

In the Nintendo Switch and North American GameCube/Wii versions, the Optical Illustration is found in this location, and in the Japanese GameCube/Wii version, the Fuel Reservoir.

Japanese GameCube/Wii version[edit]

This treasure is found in the eleventh sublevel of the Dream Den, and may either be found on a ledge or on the ground. A Breadbug and other enemies may try to stop the Pikmin from taking the treasure to the ship's pod.

In other versions, the Yellow Taste Tyrant is found in this location.

Notes

Olimar's journal

This is a truly heart-wrenching design. I've never been this moved by a piece of art. Every time I view it, I can't stop crying! The ship mocks me by squirting engine coolant at me, but it's obviously just jealous that it can't shed any tears.

Sales pitch

This is something that machines cannot comprehend... The heart of art, the soul of creativity. If you understand the appeal of this design, your heightened senses are at space-pilot level!
