The Courage Reactor (あいとゆうきリアクター?, lit.: "Love and Courage Reactor") is a battery treasure found in Pikmin 2. In the Switch version it is a fictional "Electric Super Battery", a Duracell D battery in the North American and European GameCube and Wii versions, and a National Hi-Top D battery in the Japanese GameCube and Wii versions. It is the first treasure that is collected in Pikmin 2, and is found partially buried in the Valley of Repose. Upon retrieval, the Hocotate ship is satisfied with the day's work and the first day is completed. While Louie discovers the treasure first, he needs to reunite with Olimar and his Pikmin before it can be lifted and salvaged.
In the North American and European GameCube and Wii versions the text on the side contains a paragraph informing the user that the battery cannot be recharged, and that the polarity of the battery should be respected. These instructions are written in Italian, French, German and English, in that order. The full text reads:
- Inserire correttamente. Non ricaricare.
- Respecter les polarités + et -. Ne pas
- recharger. Auf richtige Polarität achten.
- Nicht wiederaufladbar. Connect correctly.
- Do not recharge. MADE IN EC
- DURACELL®
- D
- ALKALINE 1,5V
- MN0000 LR6
- MAR 2010
Strangely, in the US New Play Control! Pikmin 2 website, the Courage Reactor uses artwork of the Japanese version of the treasure instead of the North American version.[2]
Collecting the treasure
The following article or section contains guides. |
To retrieve the treasure, both Olimar and Louie are needed: start by gathering all the pellets in the area and the Dwarf Red Bulborb. After obtaining 20 Red Pikmin, have them dig it out of the ground and carry it to the ship.

The Arboreal Frippery (イチコロダオレ?, lit.: "One-hit Death") is a treasure found in Pikmin 2. It is actually a leaf from a Japanese maple tree, although it is easily confused with a marijuana leaf. It is tied with several treasures for the least amount of Pokos it's worth.
In the Japanese version, Olimar's journal entry states that the treasure has a strong sleep-inducing effect, and states that he might want to try it some day, as he has not been able to sleep well recently. The journal and the sales pitch also denote that the wrong amount of it can lead to "eternal sleep", with the ship calling it a "dangerous drug". These notes were slightly altered in the Switch port. Its name in the Japanese version means "One-hit Death".
The leaf is red in the European version, as well as the Switch port, presumably to drive away the comparison to marijuana. The texture in the European version is reused from an earlier set of treasures found in the game's disc.[1] In the Nintendo Switch version, the edges of the texture are blurred in a similar manner to the Sunseed Berry and Science Project's leaf textures.
Collecting the treasure
The following article or section contains guides. |
The Arboreal Frippery is found in Sublevel 4 of the Shower Room, which is a large, calm area with only harmless Unmarked Spectralids and two Queen Candypop Buds. The water is too shallow to drown Pikmin, so it can be crossed with any type of Pikmin. The treasure is in a pipe, so the Treasure Gauge can be used to find the correct pipe. Since it weighs only one unit, throwing a single Pikmin at it should easily transport the treasure back to the Ship's Pod in a hasty manner.

The Pondering Emblem (さとりのエンブレム?, lit.: "Emblem of Enlightenment") is a treasure in Pikmin 2. In the Nintendo Switch version, the treasure is an unbranded soft drink bottle cap, and is found in sublevel 5 of the Shower Room. In the North American GameCube and Wii versions of the game, it is a Yoo-hoo chocolate beverage bottle cap, and is also found in sublevel 5 of the Shower Room. In the European GameCube and Wii versions, it is a Tizer bottle cap, and is found in sublevel 3 of the Submerged Castle.
Collecting the treasure
The following article or section contains guides. |
The Pondering Emblem can be found in one of the dark alcoves in sublevel 3 of the Shower Room. It may also be on one of the raised blocks near bodies of water. Watch out for the Fiery Blowhogs or Withering Blowhogs, along with other enemies in the area, because they may become an obstacle for a leader's Pikmin.
The Pondering Emblem can be found inside of the Withering Blowhog in sublevel 3 of the Submerged Castle. Watch out for any hazards or enemies that might be nearby.
