Armored Nut

The Armored Nut (ヒラノミ?, lit.: "Low-grade Employee Nut") is a treasure in Pikmin 2. It is a small acorn that falls under the Xenoflora Series. It is found in the Wistful Wild inside a Creeping Chrysanthemum.

As Olimar's notes on the treasure indicate, it's location lines up perfectly with where the Onions - specifically the Blue one - landed at The Impact Site in Pikmin.

The strategies shown are just suggestions.

The Creeping Chrysanthemum that is nearest to the Hole of Heroes has the Armored Nut. The path the Pikmin take back to the Ship is filled with a variety of enemies that will likely all need to be killed, such as the Cloaking Burrow-Nit and Yellow Wollyhop in the area with the bridge, and the Decorated Cannon Beetle close to the Ship itself. The roaming Gatling Groink, if it has not been killed, is a priority, as it may ambush Pikmin carrying the Armored Nut back.

Notes

Olimar's journal

I've never tasted a nut quite like this. It's difficult to explain, but it tastes like...sorrow.

PS: I can't shake the feeling that I've been here before. Aha! This must be the exact spot where I crash-landed last time!

Sales pitch

This common, ordinary nut somehow reminds me of myself and fills me with sadness.

  • Translation: It is a plain and unremarkable nut. But when I stare at it, I feel sad for some reason...
PS: The topography of this area looks familiar. Hmmm... Come to think of it, wasn't it around here that I crash-landed on my last expedition? Have I returned!?

Sales pitch (Japanese)[edit]

  • Text: 平凡な見た目にシンパシー。どこか自分に似ている気がしてもの悲しい気持ちになる木の実です。
  • Translation: Sympathy for its mundane appearance. It is a nut that somehow reminds you of yourself and makes you feel sad.
