The Master's Instrument (アートだましい?, lit.: "Soul of Art") is a treasure in Pikmin 2. In the US and European versions, it is a pink "Mario Paints" pastel stick labeled "Peach Pink", which is a reference to the Super Nintendo game Mario Paint and the character Princess Peach. In the Japanese version, it is a generic brand of pink pastel stick labeled 12色クレヨン?, lit.: "12 Colored Crayon". It is found on the first sublevel of Glutton's Kitchen.

Collecting the treasure[edit]

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

The Master's Instrument is found in sublevel 1 of the Glutton's Kitchen. It is located inside a box with a Dwarf Bulbear in it, so the player must be careful when aiming their throws. There are also many more Dwarf Bulbears that can get in the way while carrying the treasure, so make sure the enemies are defeated as well.

Notes

Olimar's journal

I found this object squirreled away in an underground complex. Some of these structures demonstrate a high degree of culture. I surmise that each building must have been designed by an artist of great renown. This pink painting rod reinforces my hunch that this civilization appreciated fine art.

Sales pitch

No artistic inclinations? No color sense? No worries! This no-hassle art implement was found on a primitive planet. From this day forward, you can be an artist of the ages!

Trivia[edit]

  • Despite having a changed design in the North American and European versions, the icon for the Master's Instrument is unchanged from the Japanese version in Pikmin 2's Nintendo GameCube and New Play Control! releases.
