The Abstract Masterpiece is a treasure found in Pikmin 2. In the US version, it is found in the sixth level of the Shower Room in one of the alcoves in the area. It may get picked up by the Munge Dweevils or Anode Dweevils in the area. Other threats include Dwarf Orange Bulborbs and some Volatile Dweevils. The Abstract Masterpiece is actually a Snapple juice lid.

On it, it reads:

"SAFETY BUTTON POPS UP WHEN

ORIGINAL SEAL IS BROKEN

Snapple®

REJECT IF BUTTON IS UP"

On the European version, this treasure is a PscHitt! bottle cap, located behind the electric gate opposite the set of two scales in Perplexing Pool. It is located where the Optical Illustration is.

The Japan version of this bottle cap is an Ohayo-brand milk cover.

Notes

Olimar's journal

This is a truly heart-wrenching design. I've never been this moved by a piece of art. Every time I view it, I can't stop crying! The ship mocks me by squirting engine coolant at me, but it's obviously just jealous that it can't shed any tears.

Sales pitch

This is something that machines cannot comprehend... The heart of art, the soul of creativity. If you understand the appeal of this design, your heightened senses are at space-pilot level!

Naming

This treasure's name consists of "abstract", which denotes an idea or quality rather than a concrete object, and "masterpiece", an artist's most outstanding work. The name reflects how both Olimar and the Hocotate ship see the treasure as a sensationally evocative work of art.

Internally, the treasure has a different name by region, since it occurs in different locations. In the US version, its internal name is milkcap, because it lies in the same location as the Estimated Object GF, an Ohayo-brand milk cover in the Japanese version. In the European version, the treasure is called denchi_2_red. "Denchi" translates to "battery", as the treasure lies in the same location as the Yell Battery in the Japanese version.
