The Mysterious Remains (古生物の標本?, lit.: "Paleontological Specimen") is a treasure in the US and European versions of Pikmin 2. It is a lobster claw. In the US version, it is found on the fourth sublevel of the Cavern of Chaos and in the European version, it is found on the sixth sublevel of the Snagret Hole.

Collecting the treasureEdit

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

US versionEdit

This treasure is found inside an Emperor Bulblax on the fourth sublevel of the Cavern of Chaos. There are 2 of this boss on the floor, so find which one has the treasure with the Treasure Gauge and carefully defeat it to reveal the treasure. There is lots of water in the sublevel, so Blue Pikmin may be required.

In the European version, the Container of Knowledge is found in this location, and in the Japanese version, the Understood Person Symbol.

European versionEdit

This treasure is found on the Snagret Hole's sixth sublevel, inside a Dwarf Orange Bulborb that falls from the sky. This enemy can fall anywhere, so look carefully and be cautious around the other enemies in the sublevel. To find its location, first defeat the Antenna Beetle so the Treasure Gauge works properly, and then follow the sound of the Treasure Gague. Be prepared to deal with water hazards and use Blue Pikmin when necessary.

In the US version, the Stupendous Lens is found in this location, and in the Japanese version, the Ultimate Spinner.

Notes

Olimar's journal

This looks like some part of a crustacean. Its shape vaguely resembles a pair of scissors, but I've never seen anything quite like it. It's fair to assume this creature has already perished. But I don't understand why it hasn't already begun to fossilize. Perhaps it was eaten by another creature, and it spit out these unwanted parts? Whoa there. That's crazy talk...

Sales pitch

Snickety-snackety-snip!

Think of the colossal creature that had pincers like this! These are the only remains, so your imagination can run wild. Imagination knows no boundaries!
