This article is about the chocolate glazed donut. For the strawberry glazed donut, see Sweet Dreamer.

The Chocolate Cushion (チョコベッド?, lit.: "Chocolate Bed") is a treasure in Pikmin 2. This treasure is a chocolate glazed doughnut, and a recolor of the Sweet Dreamer. It is found in the second sublevel of the Submerged Castle, either on a ledge near the cave or at the other end of the sublevel. The Confection Hoop is located at the other of the two places where this treasure is not.

Collecting the treasure

The Chocolate Cushion is found in the Submerged Castle's second sublevel, at the end of a long and narrow passage or across the water in a room with odd terrain. It can be reached by traveling through a small pipe that leads to an unreachable, high area, or throwing Pikmin across a gap in the room with the cave exit. One or more Dwarf Orange Bulborbs may be found near it. When transporting it back to the pod, Fiery Dweevils, Careening Dirigibugs, and other enemies may attack the Pikmin transporting it, so they should be defeated on the way to the treasure. If found at the end of the pipe, it may be tricky to collect it once the Waterwraith appears. If it goes past you, it will usually go to the end of the long hall, giving you precious carrying time. Lure out the Fiery Dweevils with a napping leader to prevent them from interrupting the transport.

Notes

Olimar's journal

I stumbled across this object in a cave that reeked of a putrid odor. My suit allowed me to breathe freely, but it couldn't filter out the overpowering stench. The worst part is, I smell it all the time now! My sense of taste will never be the same! The ship can't analyze tastes, so I guess I'll have to do my best...

Sales pitch

A sweet tooth's dream! Is this real? Or am I dreaming? If I had teeth, I'd be nibbling with vigor!

Olimar's journal (Japanese)

  • Text: 甘ったるいにおいが充満した洞窟で、息もたえだえのところに、この物体と出会った。私の舌はすでに限界だ……。しかしドルフィン初号機が味覚を分析できない以上、がんばるしかない。
  • Translation: In a cave permeated with a sickly-sweet smell, I came across this object when I was struggling to breathe. My tongue has already reached its limit... But since the ship cannot analyze taste, I have no choice but to persevere.

  • Translation: A sweet-tooth's dream, a drinker's nightmare. Is this a fairy tale world or the real world? My nosebleed still won't stop!?
