The Repugnant Appendage is a treasure in Pikmin 2; it is actually a dirty pink shoe with a velcro strap and a teddy bear on it. It is found on the last sublevel (8) of Frontier Cavern and is in the possession of an Empress Bulblax that constantly gives birth to offspring known as Bulborb Larvae. When retrieved, the Rush Boots component of the Exploration Kit is unlocked.

Rush Boots

The Rush Boots is a modification to the captains' footwear by the ship that allows them to run more quickly, at the same speed as flowered White Pikmin. The Rush Boots also renders the blowing attack of Puffy and Withering Blowhogs ineffective against captains. The ship explains both functions as the result of lowered air resistance.

Notes

Ship's dialogs

Ervvt! Olfactory sensors overloading! Approaching outer stink limits!

The stench must be emanating from that object...

This object has pockets of air under its surface. It is perfect for the boots I am making.

Processing...complete. Nano-assemblage of the Rush Boots is concluded!

These nullify wind resistance by circulating air beneath the soles.

You'll move faster and you'll no longer be blown away by puffy blowhogs' nasal blasts!

Olimar's journal

This aromatic object secretes a tangy odor that could knock out a bulblax! I'm with the ship on this one... I don't want to touch it, either! But I must! For the sake of the company and my family... I must summon the strength to carry on!

Sales pitch

Is this the remains of some giant creature? Its color is striking, but its stench is horrific. Could it be dangerous? The true essence of things in the natural world is very often disguised. Be fooled and die...fool or be killed. This is a law of survival.
