Collecting the treasure

The following article or section contains guides.
The strategies shown are just suggestions.

After defeating the Bulborbs and Cannon Beetles on sublevel 2 of the Frontier Cavern, this treasure can be collected by simply carrying it to the ship.

Notes

Olimar's journal

Today, we ventured across the plains to reach a cold cavern I'd been meaning to spelunk. The Pikmin have had a hard time coping with the bitter cold, but they were real troopers. Somehow, they summoned the strength to carry this box, so I hope it's full of treasure.

Sales pitch

Be satisfied with the decorative outer shell of this rectangle! It is more endearing since you can't see what's inside. Not being able to open it makes it all the more special ...In reality, it is empty!

  • Translation: After crossing a vast plain, the cave we finally arrived at was freezing cold. It seems that none of the Pikmin are that resistant to the cold, but they pulled through. They worked so hard to carry the box, so I want to believe that the inside is probably full of happiness.

Sales pitch (Japanese)

  • Text: 外面だけでいいじゃないか。開けないからこそ、心がふくらむ。中身を見ないからこそ、幸せになれる。それが最高のプレゼント。現実なんて、空っぽですよ。
  • Translation: Just the outside is enough. It is because you don't open it that your heart swells. It's because you don't see what's inside that it makes you happy. That is the best present. In reality, it is empty.

This box warms the heart precisely because it can't be opened. The real happiness comes from not seeing what's inside.
