The Courage Reactor is actually a D Duracell battery that is stated to expire in 2010 on the side. It is the first treasure that can be collected in Pikmin 2, and can be found partially buried in the Valley of Repose. Upon retrieval the ship is satisfied with the day's work and the first day is completed. Despite being found by Louie, both Olimar and Louie are needed to collect this. To retrieve it, gather all the pellets in the area, including the Dwarf Red Bulborb. After obtaining twenty Pikmin, have them dig it out of the ground and carry it to the ship.
In the Japanese version of Pikmin 2, the item is a "National Hi-Top" battery, a Japanese brand of battery. Strangely, on the website supporting the play it on the wii version for U.S, it also shows a "National Hi-Top" battery too.
