The Courage Reactor is really a D Duracell battery. It is the first treasure that can be collected in Pikmin 2, it is found partially buried in the Valley of Repose. Upon retrieval the ship is satisfied with your days work and you complete the first day. Despite being found by Louie, both Olimar and Louie are needed to collect this. To retrieve it, you need to gather all the pellets in the area, including the Dwarf Red Bulborb. After you obtain 20 Pikmin, then just have them dig it out of the ground and carry it to the ship.
