The Container of Knowledge is a treasure exclusive to the European version of Pikmin 2, where it is actually a Connétable sardine tin. It is found in one of the Emperor Bulblaxes in Sublevel 4 of the Cavern of Chaos. To collect it, there are a number of strategies. If the Bulblax containing the treasure is not in water, it is possible to throw Purple Pikmin between its eyes in the ground to defeat it quickly and easily; if it is in one of the pools, or when using other types of Pikmin, the Bomb-rocks around the level can be used. Lure the beast near these, then move out of the way as it licks them up; after eating a few, it will die. If any Bomb-rocks are out of the range to which it will follow a leader, they can be nudged slowly closer by running into them a few times. The French text on the treasure reads:

SARDINES
CONNÉTABLE
DEPUIS 1853
Préparées à l'ancienne à Douarnenez
Huile d'Olive
vierge extra

Translation into English :

SARDINES
CONNÉTABLE
SINCE 1853
Prepared the traditional way in Douarnenez
extra virgin
Olive oil

Notes

Olimar's journal

I got the feeling that I'd already found many similar looking objects. Is that just a feeling? Or does it mean that a great civilisation once flourished on this planet? Might these objects have played an important role?
