- This article is about the large megaphone that allows the whistle to pluck Pikmin. For the small loudspeaker that increases the whistle's range, see Amplified Amplifier.
The Professional Noisemaker is a giant red megaphone head, a treasure in Pikmin 2. It is found on the last sublevel (5) of the Submerged Castle, and is held by a vicious Waterwraith. When Olimar retrieves the Professional Noisemaker, the Pluckaphone, part of the Exploration Kit, is made functional by the ship.
Pluckaphone
The Pluckaphone is a special item that powers the pilots' whistles with the ability to call buried Pikmin out from the ground, saving precious time that would otherwise be spent plucking them out. As well as picking newly produced Pikmin at the Onions, this is useful for calling out Pikmin that were planted by a Mamuta or transformed by Candypop Buds.
In the first trailer for Pikmin, Olimar is seen calling Pikmin from the ground, so the Pluckaphone may be an implementation of a pre-release element from the first Pikmin game.
Notes
Ship's dialogs
“Processing... How curious. The wraith completely vanished! But what was it?
Surface-object scans indicate the presence of a bright red component!
How insulting... This object's coloring is more eye-catching than my own hull!
I shall connect it to the alarm clock our esteemed president was so fond of.
Processing...complete. I have refitted both objects into a Pluckaphone.
Now, simply blowing your whistle will inspire Pikmin sprouts to pop up out of the ground.”Olimar's journal
