Hefty Haulway is the sixth Dandori Challenge stage in Pikmin 4. There are many large treasures here, including a Crimson Banquet, which makes Purple Pikmin ideal.

How to reach[edit]

See: Dandori Challenge#Locations

Overview[edit]

This challenge is set in a dark shower room, with six segments. Some of these segments are filled with water and must be frozen before any treasure can cross them, since there are no Blue Pikmin present. The S.S. Beagle starts in one corner of the map, and a second base may be established in the opposite corner.

Layout[edit]

The stage is separated into six square rooms, arranged in a three by two grid. The S.S. Beagle lands in the south-west corner, in a room with no objects other than the starting Yellow and Ice Pikmin. The east path is blocked by iron bars, while the north path is open.

The north-west room contains a ledge, which both both entrances lead to the bottom of. Immediately in front of the two entrances is a Snowy Blowhog battling with five Ice Pikmin, along with a partially buried Citrus Lump. On top of the ledge is a Lesser Spotted Jellyfloat, carrying five Yellow Pikmin, as well as a pile of 30 gold nuggets and a Slapstick Crescent. A Daughter of the Earth is suspended over the lower area.

The middle-north room contains a body of water, frozen by 15 Ice Pikmin. Underneath the water is a button to open the iron bars in the stage, and a Love Nugget and Citrus Lump sit on two platforms in the water. In the raised section to the north, a partially buried Crimson Banquet is guarded by two Waddlepuses. An ice fence blocks the east exit to this room.

The middle-south room contains a Lesser-Spotted Jellyfloat, again containing five Yellow Pikmin. This room contains two Searing Acidshocks, a Crush Nugget, a partially buried Citrus Lump and Daughter of the Earth, and a nectar egg around the edges. In a small dead-end to the south is a purple Candypop Bud.

The south-east room contains another body of water frozen by 15 Ice Pikmin. On the south side is a raised ledge with a Fire-Breathing Feast, Crunchy Deluge, and a Delectable Bouquet encased in hydro jelly. On the raised section to the north, there is a Snowy Blowhog, a second hydro jelly containing Dusk Pustules, and an electric fence guarding a Dawn Pustules and Purple Candypop Bud. The path north of this room is blocked by both an electric node and a paper bag that needs to be weighed down by 50 Pikmin.

The north-east room contains two Dwarf Frosty Bulborbs. When these two are defeated, a purple ring is cleared, allowing the S.S. Beagle to be moved here. A Love Nugget can be found in an alcove to the west, while heading north leads to a more substantial room containing ten buried Ice Pikmin and another pile of 30 gold nuggets. An electric node blocks the entrance to this room.

This and 6th Story: Gimmick Gambit are the only Dandori Challenges in Pikmin 4 with more than one possible base location, in this case two.
