Hey! Pikmin

Unknown family

It has been suggested that this page should be moved to enemies with no known family. Reason:
Nearly all other articles and categories refer "creatures" as enemies.
Discuss your opinion on the talk page.

These creatures currently have no known family. Most of these creatures' families are either not told in the game, such as the case with many Pikmin 3 enemies. However, some have "unknown" or "?" for the family name in the entries for their logs.

Arachnode

Main article: Arachnode.

The Arachnode is an enemy that appears in Pikmin 3. It is a black and yellow striped spider that lies in rest in the form of a ball that lies in wait on a web. Winged Pikmin will get caught on its web if directed to carry something near an Arachnode's web, so it must be killed if Winged Pikmin are to carry anything by one.

Armored Mawdad

Main article: Armored Mawdad.

The Armored Mawdad is a boss that appears in Pikmin 3. It is a blue centipede-like creature that covers itself in crystal armor that can be broken only with Rock Pikmin. It charges at Pikmin, and if any Pikmin is caught in its large mandibles, it will eat them. Defeating it will allow Alph to obtain the Data Glutton, and proceed to the Distant Tundra.

Bearded Amprat

Main article: Bearded Amprat.

The Bearded Amprat is an enemy that appears in Pikmin 3. It is a rodent-like mammal with a large amount of hair in front of its head. While in this state, the Amprat is harmless. However, by rubbing its beard with its forelegs, it can use static electricity to attack. By stunning Pikmin, it can then proceed to eat them.

Fireflinger Groink

Main article: Fireflinger Groink.

The Fireflinger Groink is an enemy that appears in Hey! Pikmin. The Fireflinger Groink shares many similarities to the Gattling Groink, which is interesting since both creatures do not belong to any known family.

Gatling Groink

Main article: Gatling Groink.

The Gatling Groink is an enemy in Pikmin 2. It is a large biomechanical creature with eyes staring forward, two legs, a mechanical tail and a mouthplate that is opened to fire mortar rounds. Despite not having a very dangerous attack, it possesses strong defensive capabilities and is often located in hard-to-reach places, such as on top of pillars, increasing its protection against Pikmin even more. It attacks by initiating a cannon from its mouth and fires 3 mortars at regular intervals when in range of a target. When the balls hit the ground, they scatter all Pikmin in range and kill those at the absolute center of the blast. The method to attack it is to throw Pikmin at its rear, where it lacks metal shielding. It can shake the Pikmin off when agitated, and unlike most enemies, the shaking occurs without any visible preparations, giving the player hardly any reaction time. Because Purple Pikmin stun when they land on the ground, it is not necessary to get behind it to immobilize it with purples. Once killed, it starts regenerating health, making it crucial to carry it to an Onion or the Research Pod. If it isn't carried back on time, it will revive and continue its attack.

Goolix

Main article: Goolix.

The Goolix is an enemy in the first Pikmin game. It resembles a blue amoeba with two nuclei (a blue one and a larger yellow one) and stretches around to engulf Pikmin that happen to be in its path, drowning them out with its aquatic properties. The only Pikmin invulnerable to it are Blue Pikmin, due to its watery nature. Its weak point is the smaller nucleus. If it is attacked, it will smack the nuclei together, knocking off all Pikmin on it, though it may cause more damage. When it dies, it gets absorbed into the ground, leaving no trace it was ever there, besides dropping 4 random-colored 5-pellets. It is only found in The Impact Site on odd-numbered days (even-numbered days will have the Mamuta instead).

Mamuta

Main article: Mamuta.

The Mamuta is an enemy found in the Pikmin games. It appears rocky, with two small eyes and two arms of dissimilar size. In the first game, it will just stand and watch any Pikmin walk by. Any attack on it, however, causes it to become enraged and pound the Pikmin into the ground. This, strangely enough, doesn't kill them but will replant them and turn them into flower Pikmin. In Pikmin 2, they have been made more aggressive, attacking when the Pikmin come close. They still don't kill the Pikmin, however. If killing them is necessary, they are easy to attack, as they have smaller health. In the first game, they are found at The Impact Site on even-numbered days (on odd-numbered days, the Goolix is encountered instead.)

Mitite

Main article: Mitite.

Mitites are enemies found in Pikmin 2. They are helpless, but not harmless. They resemble small, pink creatures with white shells and five legs to move around. When one steps on wherever they're buried, 10 of them will then come out and scuttle around, sending both themselves and the Pikmin into a panic. They are also found in eggs on the ground and in Honeywisp eggs, underground in sublevel 10 of Hole of Heroes, which are summoned by an Emperor Bulblax when it roars, as well as being found in the bodies of some Raging Long Legs. Mitites can be found just about anywhere, it just depends on the chance that an egg will contain some. They will eventually burrow back unless killed. They can easily be killed by throwing a Purple Pikmin in the middle of the group.

Nectarous Dandelfly

Main article: Nectarous Dandelfly.

The Nectarous Dandlefly is a harmless enemy in Pikmin 3. They are similar to the Honeywisp of Pikmin 2, in that they are floating creatures that carry around nectar. Depending on where the enemy is hit, it can drop between one and five nectar droplets.

Pearly Clamclamp

Main article: Pearly Clamclamp.

It is only found in the first Pikmin game. It cannot be defeated, but if the pearl inside is attacked enough, it will fall out and can be returned to an Onion to produce Pikmin seeds. It only attacks when Pikmin are inside its mouth, by clamping its mouth shut.

Peckish Aristocrab

Main article: Peckish Aristocrab.

The Peckish Aristocrab is an enemy found in Pikmin 3. It is a crab-like enemy with a crystal claw. Said claw can be destroyed by Rock Pikmin, bomb rocks or Yellow Wollywogs. It can only eat Pikmin if its claw is available to it, but it can also spray bubbles to trap leaders and Pikmin. Charging at the Aristocrab causes it to push its body from the ground, out of Pikmins' reach. Its advanced intelligence gives it a difficulty on par with a mini-boss, but the game does not consider it such.

Phosbat

Main article: Phosbat.

The Phostbat is an enemy that debuted in Pikmin 3. Phosbats are relatively small creatures, a bit larger than a Dwarf Bulborb. They aimlessly wander in the dark cave they call home Distant Tundra, but they do waddle towards and attempt to feed on any Leader or Pikmin that strays too close by. They are watched over by the Vehemoth Phosbat and are born from Phosbat Pods.

Plasm Wraith

Main article: Plasm Wraith.
This article is about the creature itself and the final boss battle. For information on the entity that chases the leaders during the puzzles in the Formidable Oak, see Mysterious Life Form.

The Plasm Wraith is the final boss of Pikmin 3. It is a gold-covered wraith that can assume multiple forms and is relentless in its desire to capture and keep Olimar under its care. It can use a flurry of stabbing attacks to eat Pikmin that aren't Rock Pikmin and can spit out Elemental Plasms for fire, electricity, water, and crystal, destructible by the Pikmin type that is resistant to the relevant element.

Pyroclasmic Slooch

Main article: Pyroclasmic Slooch.

The Pyroclasmic Slooch is an enemy in Pikmin 3. It is a black slug with orange bands that also happens to be on fire. Red Pikmin can attack it normally, Rock Pikmin can do damage on impact, and the flames are doused while in water. The Slooch can also eat Pikmin, so care must be taken even with Red Pikmin.

Quaggled Mireclops

Main article: Quaggled Mireclops.

The Quaggled Mireclops is a boss in Pikmin 3. It is a colossal rock-creature with hooves and a fruit-like appendage on its head. It was presumably responsible for the Hocotate ship being trashed, stranding Olimar and Louie on PNF-404. It attacks by stomping on the ground which, beyond simply harming Pikmin, creates pools of water. Once it's downed by having one of its hooves attacked enough, its head is available to be attacked. However, it can still eat Pikmin using a large, sticky tongue situated in a mouth under its fruit-like appendage. It drops the Food Thief upon defeat.

Sandbelching Meerslug

Main article: Sandbelching Meerslug.

The Sandbelching Meerslug is a boss in Pikmin 3. It is a huge slug-like creature that burrows underground in the sand. Its two main attacks are to spit large clumps of sand that can bury Pikmin, and suck sand into its large mouth to form pits comparable to real-world antlion traps. It can eat planted Pikmin. Defeating the Meerslug provides Alph with the Folded Data Glutton, so that he may access the Twilight River.

Scornet

Main article: Scornet.

The Scornet is a bee-like flying enemy that debuted in Pikmin 3. Scornets are small creatures that form swarms similarly to Pikmin. They are normally harmless creatures, but Scornets become just as dangerous as the Pikmin themselves when they're brought under the command of the Scornet Maestro.

Scornet Maestro

Main article: Scornet Maestro.

The Scornet Maestro is an airborne boss in Pikmin 3. It possesses the ability to intelligently coordinate and control swarms of Scornets. The battle against this pint-sized boss is one for the record books, where two opposing swarms go head-to-head in a fight to the death.

Skeeterskate

Main article: Skeeterskate.

The Skeeterskate is an enemy in Pikmin 3. It is found exclusively in the water. It draws water into a tank on its head, which it then can use to launch water projectiles on to the Pikmin squad. As such, they are more dangerous to Winged Pikmin and Pikmin near the shore. Like Dwarf Bulborbs, they can be defeated with a Pikmin thrown onto their head.

Smoky Progg

Main article: Smoky Progg.

The Smoky Progg is a hidden boss in Pikmin, and is possibly one of the toughest. The only way to encounter it is to go into The Distant Spring area before day 15. It resides in the massive lake area, on a later useless mound of small islands, in an egg form. If one touches the egg by any means, even with Olimar, it will break out of the egg and show its true form; a dark green and black creature, emitting fumes toxic to Pikmin, sporting glowing white eyes. It will follow the player back to the landing site, so it's necessary to kill it. It can uproot Pikmin sprouts. The only way to hurt it is to throw Pikmin onto its large head. Any Pikmin left walking in its trail will succumb to the unknown substance it emits. It has an incredibly high defense and takes a while to kill. However, when killed it drops a pearl or nut that will be sufficient food to produce 100 Pikmin from any Onion that it gets to.

Sputtlefish

Main article: Sputtlefish.

The Sputtlefish is an enemy in Pikmin 3. They are cuttlefish-like enemies that swim around underwater. They can eat Pikmin using a mouth inside their tentacles and are also able to spray a black ink that acts similarly to poison.

Ujadani

Main article: Ujadani.

The Ujadani is an odd specimen found in Pikmin 2. On the first day of every thirty-day cycle (this includes the tutorial day, although this may not normally be observed), and appear in swarms near the Hole of Heroes and the arena containing three Creeping Chrysanthemums. They drop nectar and sprays when defeated (which is done similarly to nectar weed or rubble), and only rarely attack (with a poison attack). This is also where the twenty blob limit on sprays and nectar is most easily observed, so care should be taken.

Vehemoth Phosbat

Main article: Vehemoth Phosbat.

The Vehemoth Phosbat is an airborne boss that debuted in Pikmin 3. It is a large winged bat-like creature that lurks in a large cave found only in the Distant Tundra with its offspring. The creature can cloak itself and become invisible but it is also extremely vulnerable to light. The Vehemoth Phosbat has a variety of attacks at its disposal, but its most notable one is producing purple dust that sends Pikmin into a panic.

Waddlepus

Main article: Waddlepus.

The Waddlepus is an enemy found in Pikmin 3. It is a purple octopus covered in nozzles, from which it is able to spit bubbles that can trap, but not kill, Pikmin. It is a harmless enemy, but it can easily stop Pikmin from carrying objects or disrupt the squad while other tasks are being attended to, so it is not recommended to ignore them.

Waterwraith

Main article: Waterwraith.

A Waterwraith is what is believed to be a liquid or ectoplasmic creature. It is said that it may even be created from the fear of other things. It is found only in the Submerged Castle (all sublevels), and two are found in the Bully Den in Challenge Mode. It appears to have a human shape, a head, body, arms, and legs, without distinct characteristics though since it is transparent and it is quite heavy. It falls from the sky and moves around on these "rollers". It will chase the leaders and their Pikmin but is more directed on the active leader. It is invincible to any Pikmin assault, even if petrified, except when attacked by Purple Pikmin. However, it strangely can't be hurt by purples if petrified, unless they are thrown in a perfect arch so they make the sound they usually make when they land. When a purple lands on or near the Waterwraith, it turns dark and becomes vulnerable to all Pikmin attacks, but it is not wise to do this when it is on the rollers. When the player depletes its health, the rollers crumble and the Waterwraith will run all around the cave. It can be hit with more purples and then easily attacked with other Pikmin. When finished, it will vanish into nothingness and will trouble the player no more.
