The following article or section is in need of assistance from someone who plays Pikmin 4.

Missions are objectives for the player's character to complete throughout Pikmin 4. These are given by either Rescue Corps members or by rescued castaways, typically within the Rescue Command Post hub area once they've been rescued.

There are two types of missions: Main Missions and Side Missions.

Main Missions[edit]

Main Missions are the main objectives the player must complete. They are usually story related with simple goals requiring the player to progress through the game normally to complete. These are often given by members of the Rescue Corps.

The leaf texture used in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode menu. (Used on Pikipedia in the {{stub}} template.)

This section is a stub. You can help Pikipedia by expanding it.
Suggestions: Document the changing objective descriptions based on the progressing story.

Name Mission giver In-game description Notes
Rescue the Rescue Corps No one Following emergency protocol, all officers were directed to evacuate the spaceship immediately. Finding the dispersed Rescue Corps is now your top priority! You only see this mission once you’ve beaten the tutorial with Captain Olimar and just before the character creation menu.
Rescue the Rescue Corps Collin The SOS signals we discovered must be coming from our Rescue Officers. Come talk to me as soon as you’re ready. The image updates as you rescue each member of the Rescue Corps, at the end of day 1 there will be 3 members on it: Oatchi, Collin and Shepherd
Rescue the Rescue Corps Collin You found Russ, the Rescue Corps’s talented scientist! Keep searching for the rest of the Rescue Officers. The image now shows Russ and updates when he is rescued.
Secure Energy Source Shepherd Apparently sparkly objects can be used as an energy source. Locate as many as you can so you can restart the S.S. Shepherd! This is when the bar has 0 sparklium acquired.
Secure Energy Source Shepherd If we’re going to restore the S.S. Shepherd’s radar and expand our search area, we need you to go out and gather more sparklium! This mission comes with a bar tallying all the Sparklium found and the amount needed to expand the search area of the S.S. Shepherd.
Rescue Olimar Shepherd Captain Olimar is shipwrecked on this unknown planet. Discover his whereabouts while you search for missing Rescue Corps Officers. Unlocks right after the Day 2 cutscene.
Cure Oatchi Shepherd With everyone's help, Oatchi's tail has been cured. Now we can all get off this planet together. Thank goodness! Story-related, automatically unlocks the day after rescuing and curing Olimar.
Rescue All Castaways Shepherd This mission comes with a counter that keeps track of the player's castaway count (not including members of the Rescue Corps).
Investigate the Planet Shepherd There are many things on the planet you have yet to discover. We've come this far—let's investigate everything! This mission comes with a counter that tracks castaways, treasures, and Onions.Only unlocks if Cavern for a King is completed before every area has been fully investigated.

Side Missions[edit]

Side Missions are objectives that aren't necessary to complete, but reward the player with things like raw materials for doing so. These are often given to the player after talking to rescued crewmates and castaways in the Rescue Command Post. Other quests are only unlocked once the player has completed a previous quest first.

The leaf texture used in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode menu. (Used on Pikipedia in the {{stub}} template.)

Suggestions: Document and add the side missions and their descriptions.

Olimar's Shipwreck Tale[edit]

Olimar's Shipwreck Tale contains only the Main Mission "Escape Planet". Captain Olimar gives it to himself in four steps, all of which require a certain number of ship parts to complete.

Name Mission giver Ship parts needed In-game description Reward
Escape Planet Olimar 2 I must collect 2 ship parts in order to repair the S.S. Dolphin, or at least increase the engine's output significantly. Can access Blossoming Arcadia
Escape Planet 8 If I want to expand my search area, I will need to collect 8 ship parts. Can access Serene Shores
Escape Planet 23 I'll need 23 ship parts to increase the S.S. Dolphin's flight radius. That's quite...a lot. Can access Hero's Hideaway
Escape Planet 30 Once I have 30 ship parts in my possession, I should finally be able to get off this planet! Successful launch from PNF-404
