The Pikmin series prominently features areas that appear to be gardens or carry the word "garden" in their name. The interaction between humanity and nature is an overarching theme of the Pikmin games, and there are few places where this interaction is so clearly visible as in man-made gardens. Many areas in the series can be understood as gardens due to their appearance, despite never being outright stated as such.
Areas with "garden" in their name
Pikmin 2
- White Flower Garden – one of the first two caves in Pikmin 2's the Awakening Wood.
- Creator's Garden – the fourth level in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode.
- Trampled Garden – the ninth level in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode.
- Twilight Garden – the tenth level in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode.
- Hidden Garden – the twenty-third level in Pikmin 2's Challenge Mode.
Pikmin 3
- Garden of Hope – the second main area in Pikmin 3.
- Shaded Garden and Shaded Garden Remix – levels in Pikmin 3's Mission Mode.
- Flower Garden – the first mission in Olimar's Assignment.
Hey! Pikmin
- Brilliant Garden – the first sector of Hey! Pikmin.
Areas appearing to be gardens
Due to the presence of man-made objects, virtually every area in all Pikmin games could be interpreted as gardens. However, a few areas posses a very typical (temperate) garden-like appearance. There is no clear-cut divide between the descriptors "garden" and "forest".
Pikmin 2
- Awakening Wood – the second main area in Pikmin 2. Flower pots and terracotta tiles are featured prominently.
- Snagret Hole – the second sublevel of this cave has a striking "above-ground" appearance unusual for caves, which is unofficially referred to as the "Garden" sublevel style. This style can also be readily identified by its musical theme. Besides the Snagret Hole, it is also found in both first sublevels of the Dream Den and Hole of Heroes.
- Three Color Training – the seventeenth level in Pikmin 2s Challenge Mode.
- Sniper Room – the twenty-ninth level in Pikmin 2s Challenge Mode, also features the "Garden" style.
