Unlike the members of the opposing gender, the Female Sheargrubs are scavengers and do not attack the Captains, nor Pikmin. Their behavior, along with the light pink colour, make the most distinctive differences between the males and females.

These creatures are also related to the Shearwig.

Female Sheargrubs are cannon fodder and can be defeated with ease by either the Pikmin or Olimar. There is no threat at all. Leading them into water will also deplete their health.
