The Aristocrab Offspring (カニンコ?, lit.: "Crab Offspring") is an enemy in Pikmin 4. As the name implies, they are a smaller and younger version of the Peckish Aristocrab. They share many of the same traits, like sidestepping, blowing bubbles, and using their enlarged claw to attack. One unique trait to the hatchlings are that they sometimes hide underground to surprise its enemies.

Behavior

The following article or section is in need of assistance from someone who plays Pikmin 4.
Particularly: Describe its behavior when it sees Pikmin, when it attacks, when it shakes, when it loses interest, etc.

The Aristocrab offsping acts roughly the same as an adult Aristocrab, but is overall much weaker. They can only eat 2 Pikmin at a time as opposed to the 3 that an adult can. Shoots out less bubbles and can't stand up to avoid a charge. They sometimes hide underground before coming out when the player comes close. They also, of course, have much less health.

Appearance

They appear nearly identical to adult Peckish Aristocrabs, only smaller.

With its low health and overall, relatively low threat level, these offspring are quite easy to deal with. You can simply use Oatchi to charge at it with a squad of pikmin and that should finish it off pretty quickly. Unlike the adult Aristocrab, the offspring cannot avoid a charge by simply standing tall and then coming back down, so charging them is possible and quite effective at destroying them.

Notes

Dalmo's Notes

It pokes its little eyes just a bit out of the sand and stays very still, waiting patiently for us to come by. Even if we know they're hiding there, it's best to act surprised and give them a good shout of alarm. That's the best way to help them feel successful in their endeavors.

Olimar's Notes

A juvenile Peckish Aristocrab. Small in size, its right pincer is only half grown. Because of this, it often hunts by hiding underground and lying in wait to ambush its prey.
Generally, crabs pass through the larval stages zoea and megalopa as they approach juvenile crabhood. Instead, the Peckish Aristocrab is born with a body shaped like an onion, absorbing its nutrition through the ground and sprouting legs as it grows. Perhaps it's a close relative of species in the Ambuloradicis class.

Louie's Notes

Throw a mountain of Aristocrab Offspring into a pot for a yummy and simple miso soup broth.
