Changes

In general, the game has no regional differences unlike the previous releases, and is instead based on the US version. On top of that and the changes common to both this game and Pikmin 1 (Nintendo Switch), which are listed here, the following additional changes exist.
Gameplay
- Pressing shows a screen displaying the game's controls.
- Holding while using now rotates the camera in the Piklopedia and the Treasure Hoard. If the camera was already looking in a direction via alone, the camera will keep looking in that direction while rotating.
- Cutscenes (excluding the end of day scenes and the cinematics) can no longer be skipped.
- By default, stages in 2-Player Battle generate using the unbalanced random generation mode instead of picking from the preset layouts available.
- The Man-at-Legs is no longer invincible while getting up, unlike New Play Control! Pikmin 2.
Graphics
- The white space inside the President's hair curl in the debt repayment cutscene has been removed.
- Much of the product placement in the original game has been removed and replaced with fictional/other brands, likely because Nintendo lost the legal rights to those treasures. This includes treasures in the Mystical Energy Series, Massive Receptacle Series, Survival Series, Ancient Ad Series, and Odd Logo Series.[2]
- The text for cave loading screens is much more opaque, and cream-colored.
- All instances of the word "Louie" that were colored blue have been recolored to a light yellow.
- Many Piklopedia icons have been replaced with artwork instead of in game renders.
- The backgrounds on Louie and The President's health icons now match their head shapes rather than re-using Olimar's background.
- The text on the Challenge Mode loading screen is a little whiter and more opaque. The sublevel number has a greenish-yellow shadow.
Text
- Various pieces of text have been changed. (e.g.: cutscene text, mail, Olimar's notes, etc.)
- Spam mail has been changed to remove links.
- Mail overall has been changed to be more polite, one example being removing the mention of Bulbie not getting fed.
- Various treasures and series were renamed, along with some of their descriptions.
- The Husband's Tears Series was renamed to the Expensive Sentiments Series, and its corresponding completion announcement was completely rewritten.
- The Space Love Series was renamed to the Celestial Vibes Series, and its corresponding completion announcement was completely rewritten.
- The Gemstar Wife was renamed to the Red Gemstar.
- The Gemstar Husband was renamed to the Green Gemstar.
- The Gherkin Gate was renamed to the Flavor Gate.
- Part of Olimar's notes on the Love Nugget were rewritten.
- Various enemies were renamed, or received other changes.
- The Caustic Dweevil was renamed to the Hydro Dweevil.
- In the US version, the Wogpole, Wollywog, and Yellow Wollywog were renamed to match the EU names, being the Wolpole, Wollyhop, and Yellow Wollyhop respectively.
- The Doodlebug's family was changed from the Flint Bug family to the Flint beetle family (same as the Iridescent Flint Beetle).
Audio
- Sound is locked to stereo, meaning that the mono and surround sound options are no longer available.
- The Ai no Uta in-game Easter egg has been removed. Since the attract mode cutscenes have been removed, Japanese players can also no longer hear Tane no Uta. Licensing complications may be part of the reason for these removals.
- Like in the New Play Control! version, the Totoka's song Easter egg is absent.
- Concrete 1 and Flooded Stump have some instruments missing.
Other
- The European model of the Arboreal Frippery is now used in all regions.
- The Doodlebug's family was changed to the flint beetle family.
