The Giant Breadbug is a boss in Pikmin 2. Unlike other Breadbugs, this one is large and shaped more almost perfectly cubical, looking like a whole loaf of bread, making it the largest species in the Breadbug family. It acts the same as normal Breadbugs, but is harder to damage by "rejection" from the pod. It is considered by many players to be the easiest boss in the game (boss theme music is not even played, though an exclusive tune is played only in the specific cave sublevel). The more recognizable habitat is located on the last sublevel (6) of the Glutton's Kitchen and consists of only two other Breadbugs, electric nodes, and Anode Beetles.
This creature is also found in the Snack Pit in Challenge Mode.

Killing Strategy
To defeat this enemy, you must wait until it latches onto a treasure or defeated creature, such as the nearby Anode Beetles, or Breadbugs. Then, toss onto or swarm the treasure with as many Pikmin as possible (preferably twice as much as the minimum weight; this is of course made easier if Purple Pikmin are used) and watch them drag the helpless Giant Breadbug toward the Research Pod. However, an easier way exists, as when the Giant Breadbug is dragged, use Ultra-Bitter Spray on the center of it, then swarm it. Like with normal Breadbugs, should there not be enough Pikmin on the treasure, they will be pulled into the Giant Breadbug's den and killed.
When the enemy hits the pod, it loses almost half its health. With luck, an egg containing Mitites can be beneficial here. Toss a Purple Pikmin at the Mitites to kill most of them instantly; the bodies only take one Pikmin to carry, so it is easy to drag the Giant Breadbug up to the pod if it attempts to steal one of these.
Purples are also able to take about one twentieth of a Giant Breadbug's health away by landing on its back, which is the only way to damage the boss if nothing is left to carry. Take note that if it has taken damage and it drags something into its nest, it will be at full health again.
