The Cloaking Burrow-nit is an insect-like creature found in Pikmin 2. It rests face-down in the ground. It has a dark blue shell with large, red eye markings on it. If it is approached, it emerges and attempts to follow and attack the Pikmin. It has a sharp proboscis which can be thrust into prey, piercing the victim and causing damage. The best way to beat it is swarm its weakspot, which is its face, or throw Purple Pikmin onto its back (they will eventually crawl towards the face for maximum damage). Burrow-nits, primarily the one in Wistful Wild, will deconstruct nearby bridges, similar to Sheargrubs.

This creature isn't seen too often, but it is not that dangerous, as it only can kill one Pikmin at a time. A Cloaking Burrow-nit appears in the background of the Distant Planet Stage on Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but has no trophy or other mention in the game.

Pikmin

Swarming it is a suitable method, usually with 60-100 Pikmin, as the hard shell protects it from all attacks, leaving only the face vulnerable, but usually, the Pikmin will revert from the shell to the face.

Captains

Using both captains, repeatedly punch it's face, but try to keep both away from the middle where they are at risk of damage from the Burrow-nit's sharp nose. When most of its health is gone during its attack phase, instead trying to jab its opponents, it will attempt to defend itself by shaking; a strategy used by nearly every other enemy in the game. After defending, it will reattempt the attack phase.
