Thirsty Desert Remix is a Mission Mode stage in Pikmin 3. It is a remixed version of the Thirsty Desert stage, and is playable in the Collect Treasure! mode only. In the original Pikmin 3, it was released as downloadable content on October 1st, 2013, while in Pikmin 3 Deluxe, it is part of the base game and can be unlocked by completing the first 5 Mission Mode stages.

Layout

This stage is unique in that only one Pikmin type is directly given to the player, which is the Purple Pikmin. However, Candypop Buds exist around the level, allowing those Purple Pikmin to be converted to White Pikmin and Winged Pikmin.

The 2 explorers, Alph and Brittany, start out on an elevated area nearby the SPERO in the southeast corner of the map. Directly nearby the SPERO are 5 planted Purple Pikmin. There is a path leading down to a small creek next to the base area. Along that path is an White Candypop Bud, a Zest Bomb, 2 Mock Bottoms, and a pile of Nuggets. Nearby is a Nectarous Dandelfly, which can be used to flower up the leader's Pikmin.

Across the small creek is a plethora of treasures. A ring of water can be seen with a Mock Bottom inside, separating the pile of Dawn Pustules off. Near the path leading to the grapes are 2 Golden Sunseeds, 1 regular Sunseed Berry, and a Winged Candypop Bud. Go further east and the explorers will find a pile of Nuggets and a lone Sunseed Berry in the middle of a ring of sand. By going west near the path to the grapes, the player will find 5 planted Purple Pikmin, a Zest Bomb, a Mock Bottom, a Sunseed Berry, a Golden Sunseed, and lastly, a Winged Candypop Bud.

Nearby is an opening to another large area holding many treasures. Pieces to a Crimson Banquet are located nearby, with one small chunk on a nearby ledge. On a ledge accessible via climbing stick is another pile of Nuggets. Near a log are 2 more Golden Grenades, and up on an elevated area only accessible to Winged Pikmin or with the climbing stick is another Golden Grenade and a pile of Nuggets. Further north is another lone cluster of treasures. Located in a ring of sand are 2 buried Crunchy Deluges and a buried Zest Bomb. Past the ring of sand is an elevated area with a climbing stick nearby. This plateau holds a Golden Sunseed, a pile of Nuggets, a Winged Candypop Bud, and multiple nectar eggs.

Outside of the ring of sand is a path leading up to an elevated area the same height to the one seen earlier. On that area are 10 planted Purple Pikmin, an White Candypop Bud, a Crunchy Deluge, and a Zest Bomb. By going south, another past leading up to a plateau full of treasures is seen. By going west near the start of the trail will result in going back to the same room with the Crimson Banquet. On the high area are 2 Insect Condos, a Golden Grenade, a Zest Bomb, and an White Candypop Bud. Also nearby are 10 planted Purple Pikmin. To the east of the elevated area is a small alcove with an Insect Condo, a Zest Bomb, a pile of Nuggets, and a Burgeoning Spiderwort, should the player need ultra-spicy spray. By going further south, the player is back at the SPERO.
