The Puffy Blowhog is an enemy in both Pikmin games. It is the more recognized species of the two airborne Blowhogs. It resembles the Withering Blowhog, but is larger, with purple/light blue stripes, and spikes on top. It is stronger than the Withering Blowhog, as its blowing range is bigger. The Puffy Blowhog, however, cannot deflower your Pikmin. The easiest way to defeat it is this: weigh it down with many Pikmin, or one Purple Pikmin, then swarm it or pound it with any color, with purples working the fastest. This species, though more easily recognized, does not appear as often as the Withering Blowhog. Note that Yellow Pikmin will fly farther when blown due to their smaller weight.
In the first game, they appear only in The Distant Spring. Their blow in the first game is also more powerful, even though it doesn't damage Olimar. In the second game they only rarely appear in a few caves.
