Scientific name Sus draconus
Family Blowhog
Areas The Forest Navel, Valley of Repose, Perplexing Pool, Wistful Wild
Attacks Blows fire

The Fiery Blowhog is a cousin of the Watery Blowhog who has a red snout and spits fire. Fiery Blowhogs are common enemies in Pikmin 2 but are only found in The Forest Navel in Pikmin 1. When provoked by Pikmin, Fiery Blowhogs will buck. If there's water nearby, Pikmin could drown, so try to lure it away from water. In Pikmin 1, it can be extremely difficult to save burning Pikmin, but blowing your whistle within the area of the Blowhog's attack will ensure that any Pikmin caught in the flames will instantly be *extinguished.

Physiology

According to Captain Olimar, the Fiery Blowhog produces a catalyst that, when exposed to the air of the Pikmin Planet, ignites. The Fiery Bowhog is white, except for its red snout and has four small nails on its hooves.

How to Kill

Pikmin 1

Red Pikmin are recommended, but if you're careful you can beat it with any color. To start off, throw a single Pikmin directly onto the Fiery Blowhog. Immediately after the Blowhog throws the Pikmin off, swarm it with your entire group. If you notice that it will survive this attack, call back the Pikmin swarming it before they can get knocked off, then re-swarm the Blowhog. Repeat until it's dead. Pikmin that are swarming a Fiery Blowhog cannot be ignited, meaning they're safe from its attack.

Pikmin 2

The same strategy described works equally well here and since they are easier to kill in Pikmin 2, a large Pikmin group can swarm it right away for the kill. Obviously, throwing purple Pikmin on it will deal serious damage to the Blowhog.

Trivia

  • The size of the Fiery Blowhogs has decreased in Pikmin 2 compared to Pikmin.
  • Fiery and Watery Blowhogs are one of the few Pikmin enemies to be a figurine in the real world.
