Unlike the members of the opposing gender, the Female Sheargrubs cannot attack the Captains, nor Pikmin. This is due to the lack of powerful jaws. That, along with the light pink colour, make the most distinctive differences between the males and females.
These creatures are also related to the Shearwig.
