*Pikmin: throw pikmin rapidly on them in all directions. If a pikmin hits them, they automaticallly perish.
Throw Pikmin rapidly into the air in all directions in an attempt to knock them down, it spray a large group with an ultra-bitter spray if you're short on Pikmin.
*Captains: bitter-spray them. They crash and break apart.

Unmarked Spectralids are enemies in Pikmin 2. They resemble small butterflies, colored either red, yellow, or purple. They are another harmless enemy, having absolutely no attack power, but can fly away off the map boundaries to safety when disturbed. Their color indicates which type of spray or liquid they drop, being either ultra-spicy spray, ultra-bitter spray, or ordinary nectar. The only above-ground area they appear in is the Awakening Wood, one group hidden in a Margaret plant near the Sunseed Berry, and another in a nearby Figwort (next to the constructable bridge); red and purple Spectralids do not appear above ground, and can only be found (along with more yellow Spectralids) in "rest areas" within certain caves. Usually underground, they are found in flocks of 20 or more. These creatures are so delicate that, upon being petrified, they will fall down to the ground and crumble.
