Whiptongue Bulborb

The Whiptongue Bulborb is a new enemy from Pikmin 3. It has a long, narrow, slender snout which resembles that of an anteater, and has a white back with dark brown spots. Unlike the Red Bulborb's pale face, its face is a darker brown. This Bulborb attacks with a long, flexible tongue which allows it to quickly devour Pikmin from much greater ranges than other members of the Grub-Dog family. Also, this Bulborb does not appear to sleep when it is unaware of the presence of Pikmin. Instead, it seems to wander or rummage through the grass in the surrounding area much like a Dwarf Red Bulborb. When a captain and or a pikmin is in range then it will quickly shuffle towards them. This is also shown here at about 6:10. When the pikmin are at a distance, it's tongue-launch attack can capture up to five pikmin at a time. However, if Pikmin are right beside it or are attacking its feet, it will lap up individual pikmin one at a time at a slightly slower pace then normal bulborbs.This Bulborb's back resembles that of a Hairy Bulborb, but a less pure white.

It is worth 50 pokos, the same as other Bulborbs in the trailer. The name of this creature is shown at 6:17 here .

The Japanese name for the Whiptongue Bulborb is "Perochappi"
