Dwarf Bulbears, like the Spotty Bulbear, is an enemy in both Pikmin games. Like the Dwarf Bulborbs, it is the small form of other Bulborbs, however, this is a real Bulborb because it does not use mimicry unlike the Dwarf Red Bulborb, the Dwarf Orange Bulborb, and the Snow Bulborb. This is the juvenile stage of the Spotty Bulbear, and when the parent approaches, Dwarf Bulbears will follow it around because it needs help hunting food. This may hinder you when you attack their parent. You will usually only find them in places where Spotty Bulbears can be.  Oddly enough, these creatures do not stop chasing you or treasure if you go their pace and will follow you to the Pod or the Onion area if provoked.  Another oddity is that when a full-grown Spotty Bulbear approaches, the Dwarfs run faster than usual to the full-grown one, which shows a possibility that the Dwarfs think you are no match for them, which, hopefully, is a big mistake. On the first game they sniffed upward instead of downward. Also, when it would shake pikmin off, it would do a back flip.

Notes

Olimar's Notes

A grub-dog larva into its third stage of development, this creature's body structure is near maturation. However, unlike mature bulbears, it has yet to claim its own patrol route, and thus is dependant upon is parent for guarding direction.

Louie's Notes

Remove innards, stuff with sage and finely aged prosciutto, and broil until golden brown. The ultimate crowd pleaser!

How to Kill

Pikmin

If you have a lot of Pikmin, swarm it and it should die before eating any Pikmin. If not, throw them onto it, then call them back immediately. This creature can cause the Crushing Glitch when defeated.

Captains

Run around it and swat it until it's dead, avoiding its attack.
