Sticky mold is an obstacle in Pikmin 4. They are circular patches of mold on the ground that will slow down the leader, Oatchi, and all Pikmin except Winged Pikmin and Glow Pikmin. They also prevent the Pikmin and Oatchi from carrying any object including treasures and enemy corpses that are on the mold or covered by it. Every patch of sticky mold also has several mushrooms on it, with some patches having poisonous mushrooms instead. Destroying every mushroom on a patch will make the sticky mold disappear.
The Toxstool is able to regenerate patches of sticky mold with poison mushrooms with its spores.
