Raging Long Legs is a boss in Pikmin 2. It has a resemblance to the Beady Long Legs in overall body structure, but has bigger, hairy feet, a bigger body (to the point where any Pikmin can reach it), is glossy black with purple veins, and moves more slowly. It is also much stronger, and so takes longer to kill. Like the Beady Long Legs, however, the beast shakes Pikmin off and starts stomping angrily if enough damage is dealt to it that it becomes agitated; this is more dangerous due to the size of its feet. The fact that it has a larger body means any kind of Pikmin can be thrown onto it without waiting makes the battle easier. It dies in the same manner as the Beady Long Legs, ejecting its possessions from its body, crumbling into dust. If this creature does not have any treasure to drop, it will instead drop 30 Mitites.
This rare boss is only seen on the last sublevel (15) of the Hole of Heroes, the single sublevel of the Cavernous Abyss in Challenge Mode, and in the Angle Maze stage of 2-Player Mode if the stage is shaped with a large center.
How to Kill
Pikmin
Despite wielding feet much larger than the Beady Long Legs, this does not make it too much more of a threat. The time it takes to move them takes much longer, and simply by observing the shadows this gargantuan creature casts it can be attacked even with leafed Purple Pikmin, as long as one stays underneath its huge abdomen, even when enraged. This allows you to throw Pikmin right back onto its body after calling them off before it shakes. A great way to defeat this beast is to use only around 7-15 Pikmin. In order to to attack ranging long legs without losing any pikmin, throw your pikmin on him when he is moving slow, and then call them off of him when he speeds up. When he slows down again, he will pause, and then throw your pikmin on him. They will stay on him for a while, and then call them back when he speeds up and repeat.
Captains
The Raging Long Legs is impossible to defeat with Captains.
