For a limited time centered around Christmas, Roadside-type Decor Pikmin wore special holiday-themed stickers instead of the standard letter stickers. This applied to any Pikmin sprouted during this period, regardless of when it reached Decor status. It started on December 21st, 2021 after being announced the day before,[1] and finished on January 11th, 2022. This was the first event to introduce limited-time special Decor Pikmin. There was another effect of this event which was announced later, which was that coins were earned 1 for every 250 flowers planted instead of 1 for every 500 flowers planted, capped at 60 coins per day, and lasting for the duration of the event.[2]

To celebrate the Lunar New Year in parts of Asia, a new type of special Decor Pikmin were made available from February 1st to February 10th, 2022. Features of this event included:[3]

  • Special Huge Seedlings appeared, marked with the Special Special Decor icon. Growing one by walking 10,000 steps would grant a Red, Yellow, or Blue Pikmin wearing a Lunar New Year Ornament.
    • These seedlings were more likely to be discovered where seedlings hadn't been found before.
    • They could not be found using the detector.
    • Only one special seedling could be in the seedling storage or the Planter Pack at a time.
  • Special Slots were available in the shop for 25% less coins.

This event was announced via the in-game news section on January 29th, 2022, but only in certain regions. The worldwide public announcement didn't occur until February 1st, the first day of the event.[4]

These Pikmin had a much higher chance of gaining the recently added Four-Leaf Clover instead of the standard Clover for Park-attribute Pikmin, at an estimated 50% chance.
    • These seedlings were more likely to be discovered where seedlings hadn't been found before.
    • They could not be found using the detector.
    • Only one special seedling could be in the seedling storage or the Planter Pack at a time.[6]

Unlike the 2022 Lunar New Year event, the "Four-Leaf Clover" Decor was still available after the event ended, at an estimated 10% chance from Pikmin with the Park location attribute.

From September 5th to September 25th, 2022, a special event themed around hanafuda cards was held. Features included:

  • The event added the "Flower Card" type of Decor Pikmin, with 24 varieties, 6 each for Red, Yellow, Blue, and Purple Pikmin.
  • Pikmin with these costumes were grown from Gold Seedlings.
  • The weekly challenges during this 3-week period all gave a Gold Seedling when completed.
  • The other way to get Gold Seedlings was by completing missions. There were a total of 20 missions, each requiring some basic task to complete, and each one was unlocked after completing the previous one.[8]

This event was announced on September 4th, 2022.[9]

Flower Card Decor missions

  1. Plant 1,000 white flowers
  2. Pluck 2 seedlings
  3. Defeat 3 mushrooms
  4. Plant 5,000 white flowers
  5. Walk 15,000 steps
  6. Pluck 3 seedlings
  7. Defeat 1 red mushroom
  8. Plant 5,000 red flowers
  9. Walk 20,000 steps
  10. Pluck 4 seedlings
  11. Defeat 1 yellow mushroom
  12. Plant 5,000 yellow flowers
  13. Walk 25,000 steps
  14. Pluck 5 seedlings
  15. Defeat 1 blue mushroom

  17. Walk 30,000 steps
  18. Pluck 6 seedlings
  19. Defeat 3 mushrooms
  20. Plant 10,000 flowers

There were some complications with the first mission. Initially it was to walk 10,000 steps, but no steps were counting towards it. After a few hours, it was changed to "Plant 1,000 white flowers" for people who hadn't opened the app yet, and a few hours later, people who had started the mission when it wasn't working had it automatically completed even if they hadn't walked 10,000 steps yet.[10][11][12]

Missions referring to a specific color of flowers counted all flower types of that color, not just the basic type. For example, planting white spider lily flowers or white rose flowers would count towards missions requiring the planting of white flowers.

These rewards would not apply if the player had the maximum amount of nectar of that type.

These gave one of four things: a Huge Seedling that grew into a Red, Yellow, or Blue Decor Pikmin with "Easter Egg" decor, a Gold Seedling that grew into the same types, a mushroom recharge ticket, or a flower planting accelerator.
