The Arctic Cannon Beetle is a boss in Pikmin 4, and the adult stage of the Arctic Cannon Larva. The Arctic Cannon Beetle appears similar to the Armored Cannon Beetle and Horned Cannon Beetle, with a light blue shell, blue skin, pink eyes, and no blowhole. It also spits out snowballs instead of boulders. Due to its lack of a blowhole, it will create a vortex of wind through its mouth instead, meaning it can inhale groups of Pikmin. Half of the Pikmin it inhales are eaten, and the other half launched out within a snowball. When it starts to inhale, it will start out low power suction, and then after a few seconds it powers up the inhale, causing its mouth to glow bright blue and sucking in any pikmin unfortunate enough to be caught in the vortex.
Strategy’s:
Ride oatchi and when it attacks, circle around to the back. When its wings go out, rush at its weak point with oatchi. This will launch your whole squad onto the weak point. Any pikmin can damage the weak point, it does not have freezing ability.
