The voyage log in Pikmin 3 is a daily log typed by one of the three main explorers of Pikmin 3. Much like Olimar's voyage log from Pikmin, they can detail events that occur during the day. They are different for each player, as they are written according to what was done or accomplished. If no significant events are accomplished during the day, a random entry from a list of several miscellaneous filler entries is chosen.
Every log entry is signed by the writer at the end. Below is a transcript of all voyage logs, as taken from the game's files. As such, the requirements needed and the writers for some of these are not known, and are merely speculative according to the entry's text. Underscores ("_") represent a variable number, like the number of fruit types gathered.
PlotEdit
Only the latest possible entry is chosen for each day, as sorted in this list. For instance, if the leaders saw the Armored Mawdad, but also defeated it in the same day, the entry log will be for defeating it.
Before the startEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “PNF-404, here we come! The SPERO's data indicates unlimited food resources! I can't wait to see the look on everyone's face when we bring unlimited food back to Koppai! Wow! My first trip to another planet, and I'll be saving my home, too! My whole body is shaking with excitement... or space sickness; not sure which. Either way, I have a landing to prepare for!”
- Europe text: “PNF-404, here we come! The SPERO's data indicates unlimited food resources! I can't wait to see the look on everyone's faces when we bring unlimited food back to Koppai! Wow! My first trip to another planet and I'll be saving my home, too! My whole body is shaking with excitement...or space sickness. I'm not sure which it is. Either way, I have a landing to prepare for!”
Day 1Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We're shipwrecked on this planet! Some creatures called Pikmin helped me find the S.S. Drake, but our cosmic-drive key is nowhere to be found! We won't be going anywhere without that... Luckily, I made contact with Brittany and will set out to find her tomorrow. When I took off in the ship, the Onion took flight as well. Odd...but amazing!”
- Europe text: “Here we are, shipwrecked! Now we'll never get all of the planet's food! I made it back to the SS Drake with the help of some strange creatures called Pikmin, but the cosmic drive key was nowhere to be found! Luckily, I was able to contact Brittany and will head out to meet up with her tomorrow. When I took off in the ship, the Pikmin's Onion followed along. Odd...but amazing!”
No sign of BrittanyEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I wasn't able to locate Brittany, so the search for edible matter must wait. Finding Brittany must be my top priority! She must be starving by now! I know I am. Maybe I'll try to take my mind off my tummy by doing some writing. A little poetry always seems to make me feel better...”
- Europe text: “I wasn't able to locate Brittany, so the search for edible matter must wait. Finding her must be my top priority! Poor Brittany, she must be completely starving by now... and knowing her, she won't be very happy about that fact!”
No sign of Brittany and out of foodEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “The search for Brittany continues...but I've somehow managed to eat the last of my food. Sometimes I wonder why we Koppaites don't have better control over our appetites. But every time I think about it, my tummy starts rumbling... Tomorrow I'll expand my search. With luck, I'll find something—something juicy and delicious.”
- Europe text: “Still no Brittany...and somehow I've eaten the last of my food already. Sometimes I wonder why we Koppaites can't manage to control our appetites better. But if I think about it for long, my tummy starts rumbling and... Well anyway, tomorrow I'll widen my search. With any luck, I'll find something. Maybe something juicy and delicious...”
Saw BrittanyEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Whew! Today I managed to make contact with Brittany! She said she was just taking a nap. I wish I could be that calm right now. There's so much I can learn from Brittany. Maybe I'll try some breathing exercises... It's a bit difficult to do those effectively inside this helmet, though.”
- Europe text: “Today I managed to communicate with Brittany. She said she'd just been taking a nap. I wish I could be that calm right now. There's so much I can learn from Brittany. Maybe I'll try some breathing exercises... Kind of hard to do in this helmet, though.”
Saw Brittany and out of foodEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “How am I out of food already?! It seems that we Koppaites never have enough food! Finding Brittany remains a top priority, but getting food tomorrow needs to be an absolute-top-priority priority!”
- Europe text: “How can I be out of food already?! It seems we Koppaites have a lot to learn about sustainable eating. I still need to find Brittany, but if I don't come back with some food tomorrow, I'm in big trouble.”
Saw the first fruitEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “A Fruit Jamboree / I discovered a food source! Such a juicy slice of joy for all of Koppai! The Drake must still analyze, but the sweet taste of hope dances its way across the tip of my ticklish tongue. For now, I do declare that all shall kick their heels in a giant fruit jamboree!”
- Europe text: “I may have discovered a food source! I won't know for certain until I get the giant fruit back to the Drake for analysis, but it looks promising. A big, juicy slice of hope for Koppai!”
Saw the first fruit and out of foodEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “My food is somehow...gone! I knew I should have packed more food for the trip! I hope I can get that giant fruit that Brittany discovered. I really hope it turns out to be edible. And I really, really hope it turns out to be tasty. I'll bring it back to the ship tomorrow to analyze it thoroughly.”
- Europe text: “My food is somehow...gone! I knew I should have packed more food for the trip! I hope I can retrieve the giant fruit that Brittany found. I also hope it turns out to be OK for us to eat. And I really, really, really hope it turns out to be tasty. I'll try to get it back to the ship tomorrow for proper analysis (and tasting!).”
Collected the first fruitEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “According to the Drake's equipment, the plant I brought back is an edible fruit! That means we can store the juice for our own food supply! Not only that, but we can also take the seeds back home and use those as a food resource. The more seeds we take home, the more people we'll be able to save on Koppai! Hm. Maybe there is something to this "recycling" thing...”
- Europe text: “According to the Drake's equipment, the fruit I brought back is edible! What a relief. It means we can store the juice for our own food supply. Not only that, but we can also take the seeds back home and use them to produce more fruit. The more seeds we take home, the more people we'll be able to save on Koppai!”
Discovered Rock PikminEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “The Onions go airborne when the sun sets. This must be a defense mechanism against nocturnal predators. I was surprised that the Rock- and Red- Pikmin Onions combined into one when the Drake took off. Guess the color differences don't mean much to them. Interesting...”
- Europe text: “It looks like the Onions take to the air when the sun sets. This must be a defence mechanism against nocturnal predators. When the Drake took off I was surprised to see the Red Pikmin and Rock Pikmin Onions combine. Maybe differences in type don't matter much to Pikmin? They certainly make a good team.”
Discovered Rock Pikmin and collected the first fruitEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Analyzing the recovered fruit back at the Drake, it was deemed suitable for Koppaite consumption. There's got to be more where that came from. Also, it looks like these hard-bodied Rock Pikmin are sticking around, which is good news. With their help, I'm sure I'll be able to reach Brittany soon.”
- Europe text: “Back on board, we ran some analysis on the piece of fruit we retrieved and found it suitable for Koppaite consumption. There's got to be more where that came from! Also, it looks like the hard-bodied Rock Pikmin will be joining the gang, which is a reason to be cheerful. I'm sure that with their help I'll be able to reach Brittany.”
Reunited with BrittanyEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I've finally reunited with Brittany, one of my shipmates. Since she's a botanist, she'll be making the reports on the food we gather. She's also in charge of rationing out our daily food supply, which is depleting unusually fast, now I think about it. Hmm, I'll have to keep an eye on her...”
- Europe text: “I've finally reunited with Brittany, one of my shipmates. Since she's a botanist, she'll be making reports on the food we gather. She's also in charge of rationing out our daily food supply, which is depleting unusually fast, now I think about it. Hmm, I'll have to keep an eye on her...”
Reunited with Brittany and collected the first fruitEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Back on board, we ran an analysis on the fruit we retrieved and found it suitable for Koppaite consumption. It looks like there is plenty more where that came from! Reuniting with Brittany, finding this fruit... It's still early, but things seem to be taking a turn for the better!”
- Europe text: “Back on board, we ran some analysis on the piece of fruit we retrieved and found it suitable for Koppaite consumption. There's got to be more where that came from! Reuniting with Brittany, finding fruit... It's still early days, but things look to be taking a turn for the better!”
Saw the Armored Mawdad's tree stumpEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We discovered a mysterious broadcast signal... What on Koppai could it be? It might be our captain, but something tells me that it could be related to that person who has been leaving all of those data files for us. I'll have to find out tomorrow. The suspense is killing me!”
- Europe text: “What in the name of Koppai is that mysterious signal coming from the other side of the wall? Could it be the same intelligent life form that has been leaving us all these data files? Or maybe it's our Captain after all? Tomorrow I intend to find out.”
Got Olimar's data file before the Armored MawdadEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Near the source of that mysterious signal, we found a note left by someone named Captain Olimar. It appears that this Olimar is from Hocotate. Perhaps he's transmitting the signal? Or maybe it's our captain! Tomorrow we'll have to find out what is going on...”
- Europe text: “We found a data file near the source of that mysterious signal, over the wall. It was by someone called Captain Olimar, who we think may be from Hocotate. Perhaps he's the one sending out the signal? Or maybe it really is our Captain, after all. Tomorrow we'll have to go and find out...”
Saw the Armored MawdadEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We encountered some sort of gigantic creature in a dark, dank cave. Attacks from the Red Pikmin have no effect on the monster's tough exoskeleton. It seems that the mysterious signal we've been tracking is actually emanating from inside the creature! Gross! We'll have to defeat it to get to the bottom of this. I have a feeling this isn't going to be pretty.”
- Europe text: “We encountered some sort of gigantic centipede lying in wait in a dimly-lit cave. Attacks from the Red Pikmin seem to have no hope of getting through the monster's crystal exoskeleton. The mysterious signal is coming from inside it - but why? I'm afraid that the only way to find out is by defeating this creature.”
Defeated the Armored MawdadEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Thanks to the Rock Pikmin, we managed to defeat the giant creature. We found a mysterious communication device inside its belly. I'm unsure of its origins, but my keen engineer's eye says it's from an advanced civilization. I'll see if I can confirm this once I get it back to the S.S. Drake.”
- Europe text: “Thanks to the Rock Pikmin, we managed to defeat the giant centipede. We found a mysterious communication device inside its belly. I'm unsure of its origins, but my keen engineer's eye says it's from an advanced civilization. I'll see if I can confirm this once I get it back to the SS Drake.”
Collected the Data GluttonEdit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “We recovered the communication device that was inside the Armored Mawdad. According to Alph, this device contains parts that may expand the Drake's communications range. I've never seen him so excited! I'm more than happy to write today's report while Alph examines the device. Sometimes he can be so diligent!”
- Europe text: “We recovered the communications device that was inside the Armoured Mawdad. According to Alph, this device contains parts that may expand the Drake's communications range. I've never seen him so excited. He can't tear himself away from the thing! I'm more than happy to write today's report while Alph examines the device. Sometimes he can be so diligent!”
First landing in the Distant Tundra before completing the bridgeEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We followed the captain's signal into a desolate tundra. Due to poor visibility, I mishandled the ship, and uh...well, I lost control, and...Brittany was thrown overboard. Searching for her in blizzard-like conditions won't be easy, but I was able to verify that she's safe!”
- Europe text: “We followed the Captain's signal to a desolate tundra. Visibility was terrible, and I must have messed up somehow because the auto-eject kicked in and threw Brittany overboard. Searching for her in these blizzard-like conditions won't be easy, but I was at least able to verify that she's safe!”
Second day in the Distant Tundra before completing the bridgeEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I was able to locate Brittany on the opposite shore but haven't been able to reunite with her. We need to regroup soon.”
- Europe text: “I've managed to locate Brittany on the opposite shore, but I haven't been able to reunite with her. I hope she's all right over there on her own. We need to find a way to regroup soon.”
Third day in the Distant Tundra before completing the bridgeEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Quite a bit of time has passed since Brittany and I were separated. At least she has some shelter inside that cave. But it's probably still so cold. I need to find her quickly. If she gets hungry, I hope she knows better than to eat too much snow. The only thing worse than a brain freeze is an empty-stomach freeze!”
- Europe text: “Quite some time has passed since Brittany and I were separated. At least I know she has shelter inside that cave. I bet it's not very comfortable, though. I need to find a way to regroup with her very soon. Knowing her, she's probably eating piles and piles of snow and giving herself a terrible tummy ache!”
Fourth day in the Distant Tundra before completing the bridgeEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Quite a bit of time has passed since Brittany and I became separated. She must be so hungry by now, and Brittany gets so ornery when she's hungry. I wish I had some sort of bad-mood sensor I could use to track her down! What am I going to do?!”
- Europe text: “Quite a bit of time has passed since Brittany and I became separated. Brittany gets pretty crotchety even when she's a little hungry, and she must be ravenous by now. I'd better find a way to regroup with her before she gets too scary to bother!”
Completed the double bridgeEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We finally completed the bridge over to the other shore! And Brittany discovered a type of Yellow Pikmin! Besides their big ears, I'm excited to find out what other unique characteristics they may possess! I'll have to observe them closely... Good thing they're so cute to look at! Whew! What a day!”
- Europe text: “We finally managed to get a bridge built between the ship's landing spot and the opposite shore. I wonder if the Yellow Pikmin that Brittany discovered have any unique characteristics besides their big ears? We'll have to observe them closely.”
Second day after completing the double bridgeEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “An Ode to Captain Charlie / O Captain Charlie, Where could you be? Can you control your appetite? Will you teach me? For many years, I've seen you as a mentor. O Captain Charlie, I really need to work on my rhyming.”
- Europe text: “- Ode to Captain Charlie, by Alph - Oh Captain Charlie, where could you be? I'm thinking of you. Are you thinking of me? You have long been my hero, and now you're my friend (I hope). I refuse to believe that you've met a bad end (though Brittany's not quite so sure). Hmm... Poetry never was my strong point.”
Saw the Vehemoth PhosbatEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We were hot on the trail of the captain's signal when we encountered a second monstrous creature! It was too dark to get a good look at it, but might this creature hold a clue to the captain's whereabouts?”
- Europe text: “We were hot on the tail of the Captain's signal when we encountered a second monstrous creature. It was too dark to get a good look, but I believe it may be the key to the Captain's whereabouts.”
Defeated the Vehemoth PhosbatEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Thanks to the Yellow Pikmin, we were able to defeat the Vehemoth Phosbat! And, much to everyone's surprise, we found our captain inside the beast! Wow! And can you believe our luck? He found a data file from someone named Olimar...who has our cosmic-drive key! But where in the world is this Olimar? Where?! We need that key!”
- Europe text: “Thanks to the Yellow Pikmin, we managed to defeat a Vehemoth Phosbat. And, much to our surprise, we found our Captain inside the beast! I'm amazed that he was able to stay alive in the stomach of a such a hideous monster. That's a true hero for you! I wanted to hug him, but the smell put me off a bit.”
First day before returning to the Tropical WildsEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Now that we have the captain back safe and sound, we'll begin exploration of this planet in earnest tomorrow. We should see if there are any undiscovered areas in the places we've already visited.”
- Europe text: “Now that we have the Captain back safe and sound, we can begin exploration of this planet in earnest. We'll start tomorrow. I'm sure there are undiscovered areas even in places we've already visited.”
Second day before returning to the Tropical WildsEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Although we have the captain back, we haven't made much progress over the last few days. The search for edible matter is why we're here, but if we don't find that cosmic-drive key, we'll never be able to get all this food back to Koppai! We should check the map next time we go out and see if any places look suspicious.”
- Europe text: “Although we have the Captain back, we haven't made much further progress over the last few days. We're here to search for edible matter, but if we don't find that cosmic drive key, we'll never be able to get all of this food back to Koppai! We should check the map next time we go out, and see if we can find any clues.”
Returned to the Tropical WildsEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We returned to the site of my original crash landing. Something here is sending out an electronic signal. Was it there earlier? It seems that the signal is somehow connected to that Hocotatian who picked up our cosmic-drive key. It's going to take a team effort to track this thing down! Saving our planet is turning out to be more difficult than I thought it would be...”
- Europe text: “We went back to the site of my first crash landing. I didn't detect it before, but there's something there emitting a strong electronic signal. We're hoping it has something to do with that Hocotatian who we think picked up our cosmic drive key. If the three of us work as a team, I'm sure we'll be able to find out!”
Second day before seeing the Folded Data GluttonEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Several days have passed without any leads on the cosmic-drive key. Searching for fruit is important, of course, but we really need to track down the signal that seems to be coming from Captain Olimar. The area where I first crashed... I have a feeling something big is there...”
- Europe text: “Several days have passed without any leads on the cosmic drive key. Searching for fruit is important, of course, but we really need to track down the signal that seems to be coming from Captain Olimar. That area where I crashed... I have a feeling something is there...”
Saw the Folded Data GluttonEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Beyond the dense jungle, at the end of a strangely foreboding pathway...we found ourselves in a vast desert. It rather resembles the terrain of Koppai. There we found a new communication device! I'm starting to get a little homesick... That or it's just getting stuffy here in my helmet.”
- Europe text: “Through the dense jungle, at the end of a strangely foreboding pathway, we came upon a vast desert. It reminded me of the terrain of Koppai, and I've started to feel quite homesick. That, or I'm just getting too much oxygen in my helmet. Anyway, we found a new communications device there!”
Saw the Sandbelching MeerslugEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We discovered the intricately designed communication device that was emitting the signal. Unfortunately, a ginormous creature appeared and swallowed it up! The animals on this planet eat everything! The device's signal was really strong, so I think we could use it to boost the Drake's communication system even further. Now, if we could just get to it somehow...”
- Europe text: “We found the complex communications device that was emitting the signal. Unfortunately, an enormous creature appeared and swallowed it up. It seems the beasts on this planet will eat anything! The signal the device gives out is really strong, so it would be great if we could use it to boost the Drake's communication system. If we can just get to it somehow...”
Defeated the Sandbelching MeerslugEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “The Demise of the Meerslug / Poor planners we Koppaites be, but defy us at your own peril. A communication device! Recovered from within the dank belly of the Meerslug. A keen engineer can see that it may expand the Drake's communications range. In such a dark and stinky demise, it takes a keen engineer can see what it may...”
- Europe text: “We managed to defeat the enormous creature without any of us getting swallowed up! And when we finally did, it spewed the communications device back up. The signal this one gives is stronger than the signal from the last one, and I'm hoping I can use it to expand the Drake's communications range.”
Collected the Folded Data GluttonEdit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “We showed that beastly Meerslug who was boss and retrieved the communication device without incident. Alph is working on incorporating the device's transmitter into the Drake's communication systems. The creatures on this planet will eat anything! What gluttons. I'm glad we Koppaites aren't like that...”
- Europe text: “We managed to retrieve the communications device that the enormous creature swallowed. Alph is working hard on incorporating parts of it into the Drake's communications system. Well, it seems as if the greedy creatures on this planet will swallow just about anything...including us, if we're not careful.”
First landing in the Twilight RiverEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I've successfully expanded the Drake's communication range, thank you very much! This allowed us to hone in on an unknown signal. I think we are getting closer to that Hocotatian with our cosmic-drive key! Now I need to rest though. I was up all night working on the communication system, and I deserve...a little... Zzzzzzz...”
- Europe text: “I managed to expand the Drake's communications range, so we were able to pick up another unknown signal. I think we're getting closer to that Hocotatian and our cosmic drive key! Now I need to rest though, to get ready for tomorrow's search. Been up all night working...”
Saw the Winged OnionEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We discovered a new type of Onion on the other side of the river, but it remains entangled in some sort of web. Based on what we've observed so far, Pikmin seem to evolve according to their environment. I'm thinking that new Pikmin will be helpful in exploring this area. Perhaps they'll join us if we free the Onion.”
- Europe text: “We discovered a new type of Onion on the other side of the river, entangled in the web of some creature. Based on what we've observed so far, Pikmin seem to evolve according to their environment. It would be useful to have a new type to help us in our exploration. Perhaps we can free that Onion...”
Freed the Winged OnionEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We built a bridge and freed the pink Onion, from which a single Pikmin seed popped out. However, I completely forgot to pluck the Pikmin sprout out of the ground, so I'm still not quite sure what abilities these pink Pikmin possess.”
- Europe text: “We built a bridge and rescued the pink Onion. A single Pikmin seed then popped out of it. However, we completely forgot to pluck the Pikmin sprout out of the ground, so we're still not sure what abilities these pink Pikmin might possess.”
Discovered Winged PikminEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “After bridging the river, we secured another Onion from a predator. This Onion then sprouted a Winged Pikmin! These Pikmin can fly and traverse bodies of water. More careful observation is needed to determine any other characteristics they possess.”
- Europe text: “After bridging the river, we saved the trapped Onion from a predator. The Onion then sprouted a Winged Pikmin! This Pikmin type can fly and so should be able to traverse bodies of water easily. More careful observation is needed to determine any other characteristics they possess.”
Lifted the damEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We've made contact with the mysterious Captain Olimar. This is the Hocotatian who we believe has been providing us with the data memos! It looks like he is in danger, though. If something happens to him, we may lose our cosmic-drive key for good! Time to call in the Koppai cavalry!”
- Europe text: “We've made contact with the mysterious Captain Olimar. That's the Hocotatian we believe has been providing us with the data memos. It looks like he may be in danger, though. If something happens to him, we could lose our cosmic drive key for good. We have to help him!”
Saw the Scornet MaestroEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Our only link to the cosmic-drive key, Captain Olimar, was snatched up by a swarm of flying creatures right before our eyes! At least they didn't swallow him. We then saw a huge creature that may have been the swarm's leader. If we can defeat that huge monster, maybe they'll release Captain Olimar. I hope so...”
- Europe text: “Our only link to the cosmic drive key, Captain Olimar, was snatched up by a swarm of flying creatures right before our eyes! At least they didn't swallow him. We then saw a huge creature that may have been the swarm's leader. If we can defeat that huge monster maybe they'll release Captain Olimar. I hope so...”
Defeated the Scornet MaestroEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Well...there's good news and there's bad news. The good news is we freed Captain Olimar! The bad news is we had to leave him out there in the wild. It wasn't our fault, though! The sun was setting, and we'd just had this huge battle. It was all so chaotic... He'll be OK for the night...right? After all this, I hope he has the cosmic-drive key.”
- Europe text: “The good news is, we freed Captain Olimar. The bad news is, we had to leave him out there in the wild. It wasn't our fault! The sun was going down, and we couldn't get him... Well, I'm sure he'll be OK for the night, and we can retrieve him tomorrow. I really hope he has the cosmic drive key, after all this.”
Rescued LouieEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We finally managed to rescue Captain Olimar, but his suit has put him in a state of deep sleep. All we can do is wait for him to wake up. No sign of the cosmic-drive key, either. I guess we'll use this time to relax for a bit and get some rest... Not the best day.”
- Europe text: “We finally managed to rescue Captain Olimar, but he wasn't moving at all. It seems his suit has put him in a state of deep sleep, and all we can do is wait for him to wake up. No sign of the cosmic drive key, either.”
Louie's landing in the Garden of HopeEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I can't believe it! Captain Olimar woke up! While we were sleeping, he took control of the Drake and touched down in the area where Brittany originally crash-landed. And as if that wasn't odd enough, he then grabbed all of the food we gathered and ran off with it! We're going after him, but I can't help but wonder what is going on!”
- Europe text: “I can't believe it! Captain Olimar woke up! While we were sleeping, he took control of the Drake and touched down in the area where Brittany originally crash landed. And as if that wasn't odd enough, he then grabbed all of the food we gathered and ran off with it! We're going after him, but I can't help but wonder what is going on?!”
Freed the Blue OnionEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We had some Winged Pikmin pull out what we thought was just a weed, but to our surprise, it turned out to be a new type of Onion! This blue Onion then took root right in the ground and shot a single blue Pikmin bud out into the water. I can't wait to see what special abilities this one might have. I have a guess...but I want to see it first!”
- Europe text: “We had some Winged Pikmin pull out what we thought was just a weed, but to our surprise, it turned out to be a new type of Onion! This Blue Onion then took root in the ground and shot a single Blue Pikmin bud out into the water. I can't wait to see what special abilities this one might have. I have an idea...but I want to see it first!”
Discovered Blue PikminEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “The blue Onion was only able to produce a single Blue Pikmin. I wonder if that took its last bit of strength. Thank goodness we were able to dig the Onion out. The Blue Pikmin may very well have been on the verge of extinction!”
- Europe text: “The Blue Onion only managed to produce a single Blue Pikmin. I wonder if it took its last bit of strength. If we hadn't got this Onion out, the Blue Pikmin may well have ended up extinct!”
Saw the Quaggled MireclopsEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Chasing down that vile fruit thief, Olimar, we encountered a massive creature, far larger than anything we had seen before! It almost looked like a walking forest! I don't know how else to describe it...other than saying that we don't want to get caught under its foot. That could be messy—like, really bad messy.”
- Europe text: “When we were chasing down that vile fruit thief, Olimar, we ran into a creature that was far bigger than anything we've seen up to now. It was like a walking swamp. You certainly wouldn't want to get caught under those feet...”
Defeated the Quaggled MireclopsEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “When we defeated that unfathomably large beast, it coughed up that Olimar, like he was a bone caught in its throat. I certainly enjoyed that. It looks like his ship has seen better days. We need to get him back to the Drake so we can get some answers...and our fruit!”
- Europe text: “When we defeated that unfathomably large beast, it coughed up that Olimar like he was a bone caught in its throat. It looks like he has a broken-down spaceship hidden here. We need to track him down so we can get some answers...and fruit!”
Rescued Louie for the second timeEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We managed to capture the thief Olimar, that Hocotatian who had been eluding us. We retrieved our stolen food supplies, but boy, was Brittany upset, and rightly so! After we all calmed down a bit, I started thinking that there is something fishy going on here... We need to get to the bottom of things...”
- Europe text: “We've finally managed to capture that thieving Hocotatian, Olimar, and have retrieved our stolen food supplies from him. This has improved Brittany's mood no end! Still though, what was Olimar's objective? What was he doing in this area? I saw what looked to be a broken-down spaceship nearby... Tonight's job? Find out the truth!”
First landing in the Formidable OakEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “The Hocotatian wasn't Captain Olimar, after all! Apparently, his name is Louie. He claims to know the whereabouts of the real Captain Olimar, who he says is currently in a perilous situation. With no other leads to the cosmic-drive key, we have no choice but to trust and follow him. For now.”
- Europe text: “The Hocotatian wasn't Captain Olimar after all! Apparently, his name is Louie. He claims to know the whereabouts of the real Captain Olimar, who he says is currently in a perilous situation. With no other leads to the cosmic drive key, we have no choice other than to put our trust him[sic].”
Saw Captain OlimarEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We found Captain Olimar! ...Again! Pretty sure this is the real deal this time. He wasn't responsive, but his vital signs are good. I hope he's OK. He's our last hope for finding the cosmic-drive key now.”
- Europe text: “We found Captain Olimar! ...Again! We're pretty sure it's the real one this time. He wasn't responsive, but his vital signs are good. I hope he's OK. He's our last hope for finding the cosmic drive key now.”
Saw the Mysterious Life-FormEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “In our attempt to rescue Captain Olimar, we encountered a mysterious life-form that really seemed to have it in for him. It seems strange that this being would be targeting a Hocotatian... Maybe we can find some answers when we get Captain Olimar back to the Drake.”
- Europe text: “In our attempt to rescue Mr Olimar, we encountered a mysterious life form. For some reason, it really seemed to have it in for Olimar. Why was it after him, I wonder? Maybe we can find some answers when we get him back to the Drake.”
Initiated Plasm Wraith FightEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “That mysterious life-form not only swallowed Captain Olimar, but it also transmutated into some sort of humanoid! It's going to take everything we've got, but we'll take that thing down! And then we'll save Captain Olimar! And then we'll save Koppai! And then we'll be heroes! LET'S DO THIS!”
- Europe text: “The mysterious life form not only swallowed Captain Olimar, it also mutated into some sort of two-legged monstrosity! It's going to take everything we've got, but we're going to take that thing down! And we're going to save Captain Olimar!”
Mission complete, 0-32 fruitsEdit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “On our mission, we gathered _ pieces of fruit. Which is all fine and good, but what was with that bizarre, golden life-form? Why was it so bent on holding only Olimar captive? I mean, what am I? Soggy salad? But maybe I recognize all too well what fueled that life-form's fixation on Olimar... Maybe I don't, though... I'm still not sure.”
- Europe text: “And so we return from our mission unharmed, with _ pieces of edible matter to take back with us. But what was that bizarre golden life form we encountered? Why was it fixated on Olimar, and Olimar alone? But maybe I recognize all too well what fuelled its fixation... Maybe it saw something in Olimar which it saw in no other... Yes, an unrequited love...”
Mission complete, 33-53 fruitsEdit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “We return from our mission successful in retrieving _ pieces of edible matter! We picked up a stray Hocotatian as well, so we're on our way to drop him off. He won't stop talking about adding something called "mayonnaise" to vegetables to make them taste good. It'll take another food crisis for me to find out if he's right. I hope I never see this "mayonnaise"...”
- Europe text: “We've done pretty well! We're all still alive, and we've got _ pieces of yummy edible matter to take back to Koppai with us. We've also picked up a stray Hocotatian, and we're on our way to drop him home. He tells me that if you add a sauce called 'mayonnaise' to vegetables it makes them taste good... I hate veggies, so it'll take another food crisis to get me to try that!”
Mission complete, 54-65 fruitsEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Our first warp voyage was a success, and we're on our way back home! We're returning with _ pieces of edible matter. However, if we continue to consume recklessly, Koppaites will once again face a food crisis in the future. Food production and consumption. These are the things we must plan carefully. The Pikmin taught me how to plan.”
- Europe text: “My first cosmic voyage has ended in success and we're on our way home. We're taking back _ pieces of edible matter. However, if we Koppaites continue in our reckless and gluttonous ways, it won't be long until the next food crisis comes along. We need to plan for a cycle of production and consumption... Yes, I've learned a lot during this time with the Pikmin.”
Mission complete, all 66 fruitsEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Our mission is over, and we're returning with all the edible matter available in this planet's explorable areas! We shall return to Koppai with our heads held high! The other Hocotatian we rescued, Louie, has vanished, which is troubling. I thought he'd boarded the S.S. Drake with us, but maybe we left without him? Still, from what we've seen, I'm sure he'll be OK wherever he is...”
- Europe text: “Our mission is over, and we have managed to retrieve all of the edible matter available in this planet's explorable areas! We shall return to Koppai with our heads held high. Strangely Louie, the other Hocotatian we saved, is nowhere to be found. I thought he'd boarded the SS Drake with us, but maybe we left without him? Still, from what we've seen, he'll be OK wherever he is...”
MiscellaneousEdit
These entries are picked randomly when there is nothing else of interest to say. Some of these require certain conditions to be met in the story before they're picked, like Captain Charlie being unlocked for entries where Alph talks about him being back with the crew.
Misc. 1Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Day _ for me on this planet. I was so excited to explore this place, but now I'm just feeling homesick. I miss my big sister, especially. She always shared her food with me, even when it was scarce. I can't wait to pay her kindness back when we show up with a ship full of seeds!”
- Europe text: “Day _ on this planet. While I'm in awe of my new surroundings, I can't help but miss my family back home, especially my big sister. She was always so kind to me, sharing food with me even when it was scarce. For her sake, and for the sake of all of Koppai, I must make it back home with edible matter from this planet.”
Misc. 2Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I've been hearing terrible noises at night since we reunited with the captain. These sounds are truly awful, like nails scraping across a chalkboard. I've checked the ship top to bottom, but I can't seem to isolate the noise. What could be making that terrible sound...? I hope I'm not cracking up. Maybe I just need a good night's rest.”

I've checked the ship top to bottom, but I can't seem to isolate the noise. What could be making that terrible sound...? I hope I'm not cracking up. Maybe I just need a good night's rest.”
Misc. 3Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Strange things have been happening everywhere. On our way to this planet, the captain cried out "Elizabeth!" several times while he was sleeping. Could that be his wife's name? I don't even know if the captain is married. Would it be OK to bring this up as a conversation starter?”
- Europe text: “Strange things have been happening everywhere. On our way to this planet, the Captain cried out "Elizabeth!" several times while his[sic] was sleeping. Could that be his wife's name? I don't even know if the Captain is married. Would it be OK to bring this up as a conversation starter?”
Misc. 4Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Upon completion of my analysis of this planet's atmospheric composition, I can now safely conclude that the concentration of oxygen is roughly three times that of Koppai. The planet's gravity is roughly one-tenth of Koppai's. The combination of a rich-oxygen atmosphere and low gravity is a key contributor to the planet's oversized flora and fauna.”

The planet's gravity is roughly one-tenth of Koppai's. The combination of an oxygen-rich atmosphere and low gravity are key contributors to the planet's oversized flora and fauna.”
Misc. 5Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Whenever Onions unite, I can't help but wonder how a single Onion can hold so many Pikmin. Do they shrink back into seeds for easier packing? It makes me feel funny just thinking about it.”
- Europe text: “Whenever Onions unite, I can't help but wonder how a single Onion can hold so many Pikmin. Do they shrink back into seeds for easier packing? It makes me feel funny just thinking about it.”
Misc. 6Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “The fruits on this planet are rich in Piktamin U. For the people of Koppai, Piktamin U is an essential nutrient that stimulates internal function and accelerates metabolism. If we can safely transport these seeds back to Koppai, they may act as the seeds of our salvation!”
- Europe text: “The fruit on this planet is rich in Piktamin U. For we Koppaites, Piktamin U is an essential nutrient which stimulates internal function and accelerates metabolism. If we can safely transport these seeds back to Koppai, so many people will be saved! I'm sure the Captain would say these are the 'seeds of our salvation', or something equally cheesy.”
Misc. 7Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “As Koppaites, using up our food supply seems to be in our DNA. We eat until food runs out, at which point we migrate to a place with more food. Simple! But now, I'm starting to think that maybe this isn't the best way to go about things. With the recent population boom on Koppai, we may need to start rethinking our methods in the future in order to preserve our species...”
- Europe text: “For we Koppaites, using up our food supply seems to be written into our DNA. We eat until food runs out, at which point we migrate to a place with more food. Simple! But now, I'm starting to think that maybe this isn't the best way to go about things. With the population booming on Koppai, we may need rethink our methods for the sake of the preservation of our species...”
Misc. 8Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Ode to S.S. Drake / Oh, sweet mothership on our 279,000-light-year voyage, Designed by my grandfather exclusively for saving Koppai; Oh, how our crash hurt you so, If we return to Koppai, you shall never need to autoclean your fuselage again! This, I swear.”
- Europe text: “My beloved SS Drake, which managed to get us all those 279,000 light years here! The Drake was designed by my grandfather, just for this voyage. Oh, how we've abused you since then, dear Drake, crash-landing you on this planet. If we ever do make it back to Koppai, I promise that I'll give you a good wash and polish, and fix any dents!”
Misc. 9Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Pikmin are driven by an instinct to carry off anything lying around. Objects that will spawn more Pikmin are taken to the Onion, while other items are taken to either the ship or back to the item's original location. This creates a symbiotic relationship between them and other species. I thought this was just an instinct for tidying up, but it could actually be key to their prosperity.”
- Europe text: “It seems that Pikmin are driven by instinct to carry away anything they see lying around. Prey that will increase their numbers are carried to the Onion, whereas things they cannot use are carried to the spaceship or to their original location. Thus, their carrying instinct lets them form symbiotic relationships with species like us. This could be the key to their success.”
Misc. 10Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Pikmin sprout from seeds and seem to change from plant to animal when plucked. They obediently follow us and even risk their lives for us when necessary. This loyalty may aid in the propagation and survival of their species. It certainly has made us very protective of them. Could the Pikmin be somehow controlling us? No, that's ridiculous...isn't it?”
- Europe text: “The Pikmin sprout from seeds and transform from plants into animals when uprooted. They treat outsiders like us as their leaders, obediently following us and even risking their lives for us when necessary. Yet it's this obedience that has aided in their propagation and survival. Perhaps it is actually the Pikmin who are controlling us.”
Misc. 11Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Different species of Pikmin have their own sets of unique characteristics based on their environments. The outcome of our mission will most likely depend on how well we can master the various Pikmin abilities to achieve our goal.”
- Europe text: “Different species of Pikmin have their own unique characteristics, which I suspect they evolved to help them adapt to diverse environments. The outcome of our mission will most likely depend on how well we command the various Pikmin types to make full use of their abilities.”
Misc. 12Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “The Pikmin are so dedicated to us. Even in battle, they trust in our orders and fight on no matter what happens. We must also stay focused in the heat of battle. As leaders, it's our job to guide them effectively and intelligently. We must do our best for their sake...as well as for Koppai's. Wow, there's a lot of responsibility in this whole saving-the-future business...”
- Europe text: “Even when their fellows perish, Pikmin never lose sight of the task at hand. They trust in their leaders, and fight faithfully on. We too must stay focused, even in the heat of battle. As leaders, it's our job to guide the Pikmin effectively and intelligently. For the sake of these brave creatures...and for the sake of Koppai!”
Misc. 13Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “The Pikmin are so carefree, they remind me of little schoolchildren on a field trip. It makes me wonder what will happen to them when we return to Koppai. They were fine before our arrival, of course. However, I wonder if perhaps we should leave someone behind to further observe the Pikmin. The captain might be interested...”

They were fine before our arrival, of course. However, I wonder if perhaps we should leave someone behind to further observe the Pikmin. The Captain would be ideal...”
Misc. 14Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “I just noticed that Alph's follicle design bears a striking resemblance to that of our captain. I knew of Alph's poems lauding the captain, but I was unaware that he was also attempting to mimic his physical appearance. Alph has matured on this mission, but he still has room for growth. Soon, he will need to start nurturing himself rather than seeking it from others.”
- Europe text: “I've noticed that Alph's chosen hairstyle bears a striking resemblance to that of our Captain. I've been aware of Alph's wide-eyed hero-worship of the Captain for some time, but I hadn't noticed that he was imitating him too. Alph has matured a lot on this mission, but there is clearly still room for growth.”
Misc. 15Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Oh Captain Charlie— Wait—I sound like one of Alph's poems. Dear Captain Charlie, I hope— No, that's still too casual. Captain: Alph and I are well. We hope to find you soon. Brittany out. Was that too formal?”
- Europe text: “Captain, wherever you are... Alph and I are doing well. We've never been able to find you...but I'm sure you're with us in spirit. And if your spirit could guide us to some food, that would be great. Thanks!”
Misc. 16Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “The terrain of this planet is wonderfully varied. A couple times already, I thought we were at a dead end, only to find a way forward by tossing a crew member! It's almost like the planet is testing my ability to solve problems creatively! It doesn't matter if I throw Brittany or Alph...but it's always more fun to throw Alph. I don't know why.”
- Europe text: “The terrain of this planet is wonderfully varied. A couple of times already, I thought we were at a dead end, only to find a way forward by throwing a crew member! It's almost like the planet is testing my ability to solve problems creatively! I know it doesn't really matter who I throw, but I always choose Alph. You should never throw away the things that you love...”
Misc. 17Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I think I've discovered a design flaw in the Drake's emergency-ejection system. When we tried to land, the system was too sensitive, just as it was the other day when Brittany was ejected! I mean, it wasn't my best descent, but the ship wasn't really shaking THAT much...”

Misc. 18Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “I Am Found in You, Rubber Ducky / Eyes like gleaming algae whisper as my worries fall away like water crashing in rushes within thrushes off your back... Your bill, mischievous as slick stone, cups a subtle pout inside a wry smile. One look at you, rubber ducky, and I am lost... Nay. One look at you, I am found. Wow. Alph is really rubbing off on me!”
- Europe text: “In the darkness of space, You are my light; With the strength that you give, I continue the fight. With a friend such as you, I count myself lucky [sic]You are my sword and my shield, My true Rubber Ducky.”
Misc. 19Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “When I was chosen for this mission to save Koppai, I was so happy! I never dreamed I would meet the legendary ranger, Captain Charlie! And look at me now...working at his side! I hope he can't see me sweating.”
- Europe text: “When I was chosen for this mission to save Koppai, I was so happy! I never dreamed I would meet the legendary ranger, Captain Charlie! And look at me now...working at his side!”
Misc. 20Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I only buy space suits at this one retail outlet that has several locations throughout the galaxy. I feel like I'm always seeing people on other planets wearing the same suits as me. Maybe I need to switch it up a bit from just rotating the same three suits all the time. ...It's kind of embarrassing sometimes.”
- Europe text: “I tend to buy my spacesuits from Star Bazaar. It has several locations around the galaxy. For that reason, I feel like I'm always seeing people on other planets wearing the same suits as me. I wonder... Maybe I should switch it up a bit, and not just keep rotating the same three suits all the time.”
Misc. 21Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Reflections on Hocotatians / My grandpa would often tell me tales of an ancient civilization... Ones with a love for culture and great art, these Hocotatians. What is a Hocotatian doing on this planet? Seeking paintings or sculptures of granite? Hey, I rhymed! Well, until just then, anyway.”
- Europe text: “Hocotatians. According to my Grandpa they're a very advanced civilization. They apparently have a highly refined taste for the arts, and he told me that many of them love to collect ancient artwork and artefacts. Perhaps the Hocotatian who's been leaving notes on this planet came here in search of that kind of treasure?”
Misc. 22Edit
- Character: Unknown
- US text: “When the sun sets we are forced to retreat to the skies, but I do so wonder what happens on the ground at night. If the creatures on the surface are nocturnal, things probably get pretty dangerous. Fallen animals and wayward Pikmin must get gobbled up in no time. I'm so glad the Drake is operational...”
- Europe text: “When the sun sets we take to the air for safety's sake, but I often wonder what happens on the ground at night. If there are nocturnal creatures on the surface, things probably get pretty dangerous. Fallen animals and wayward Pikmin must get gobbled up in no time. I'm so glad the Drake is operational...”
Misc. 23Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “When we came in for our landing on this planet, I definitely felt like we were being pulled in by some sort of mysterious power. It clearly felt different than your typical planetary gravitational pull. I just can't seem to shake this feeling. What could it have been...?”
- Europe text: “When we came in for our landing on this planet I definitely felt like we were being pulled in by some sort of mysterious force. It clearly felt different to your typical planetary gravitational pull. I'm sure it wasn't just my mishandling of the ship. What could it have been...?”
Misc. 24Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Time away from home has given me the opportunity to reflect on Koppai's food crisis. It seems that the responsibility for proper management of resources has been mishandled by those in seats of power. Perhaps another key resource we can take back to Koppai is the leadership that our people truly need. I probably shouldn't be writing this in my official report...”
- Europe text: “Time away from home has given me the opportunity to reflect on Koppai's food crisis. It seems that the responsibility for proper management of resources has been mishandled by those in positions of power. Perhaps another key resource we can take back to Koppai is the leadership that our people truly need. I probably shouldn't be writing this in my official report...”
Misc. 25Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “When sunset approaches, time gets short! When you feel the crunch, you can pile on layers of Pikmin into ongoing tasks to speed them up. Or you can spread 'em out and try to broaden your operations. You have options, and by "you," I guess I mean "me." Not sure why I'm referring to myself in the second person. Space is a funny place...”
- Europe text: “When sunset approaches, time is short and we have to decide on the best use of the last moments available to us. We can put more Pikmin into ongoing tasks to speed them up. Or we can spread them out and try to broaden the scope of our operations. For those of us in a position of leadership, there are a lot of weighty choices to make.”
Misc. 26Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Because of Hocotate's proximity to Koppai, the planet has always been an interest of mine. It is most noted for being a large-scale producer and exporter of vegetables; namely, Pikpik carrots. Unfortunately for us on Koppai, these carrots contain no Piktamin U and are thus unsuitable for our personal consumption. They should've given the carrots a different name.”
- Europe text: “Because of Hocotate's proximity to Koppai, the planet has always been an interest of mine. It is most noted for being a large-scale producer and exporter of vegetables, namely Pik Pik Carrots. Unfortunately for us on Koppai, these carrots contain no Piktamin U, and are thus unsuitable for our personal consumption.”
Misc. 27Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “Ah...missions like this remind me of my old days as a ranger. I was brash, young, and bedecked in medals! I learned how to be a real ranger in those days...in outer space... all alone. Still, it's nice to have comrades—our engineer, Alph, and our botanist, Brittany. Especially Brittany...”
- Europe text: “Ah... Missions like these remind me of my old days as a ranger. I was young and daring, and I picked up medals here, there and everywhere! I learned how to be a real ranger in those days, in outer space, all alone. Still, it's nice to have comrades - our engineer, Alph, and our botanist, Brittany. Especially Brittany...”
Misc. 28Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “The fact that we can just come here and be surrounded by such abundance is wonderful! The fruit can keep us going, but only the seeds will make our mission a success! To the seeds!”
- Europe text: “The fact that we have been able to journey so far and find ourselves surrounded by such abundance is quite astounding! Yet, though the sweet fruit can sustain us, only the seeds will make our mission a true success. To the seeds! The seeds of recovery!”
Misc. 29Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “The size of this planet is making achieving our goals quite a challenge. We need to simultaneously explore the planet as we gather fruit. In order to achieve that with our limited resources, I've assigned Alph to exploration while Brittany will help me search for fruit. I don't like breaking up the team, but I think it's necessary.”
- Europe text: “I am astounded by the size of this planet. We must explore vast unknown expanses as we search for edible matter. To achieve this we clearly need a disciplined chain of command. Alph can explore new areas alone, while Brittany and I look after the food, perhaps... In any case, assigning leaders to work on different tasks is a good way to increase efficiency.”
Misc. 30Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “That Louie sure is one shifty Hocotatian. He seems more food obsessed than we Koppaites are! It's all he talks about. Apparently, he gets fed up with vegetables and actually eats some of the indigenous creatures here. I'm not interested in his dietary preferences, so I'm just going to keep him under lock and key until we can get some real answers.”
- Europe text: “That Hocotatian Louie really is a shifty character. And he seems more obsessed with food than we Koppaites! It's all he talks about. Apparently, he gets fed up with vegetables and actually eats some of the indigenous creatures here. Eugh. Anyway, we're going to keep him under lock and key until we can get some real answers.”
Misc. 31Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Keeping Louie on board is posing a bit of a problem concerning our food rations. I must feed him, if only for the sake of diplomatic relations between Koppai and Hocotate. We may need to start splitting rations equally between us all. I'm sure that idea is going to go over swimmingly with Alph and Captain Charlie.”
- Europe text: “Keeping Louie on board is posing a bit of a problem concerning our food rations. I must feed him, if only for the sake of diplomatic relations between Koppai and Hocotate. I may need to cut someone else's rations... The Captain's, for example. Oh, wait! I've been doing that already. Any other ideas...? Somehow, it's the only solution that springs to mind.”
Misc. 32Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I've heard rumors about some Hocotatians not being able to keep their hands to themselves. That's kind of strange. I can't think of any other reason why Louie would steal the captain's rubber ducky. That's the thing about material objects, though; one person's treasure is another person's treasure! I still can't believe the captain brought a rubber ducky with him...”
- Europe text: “I've heard rumours about some Hocotatians not being able to keep their hands to themselves, but I've never seen it in action. I can't think of any other reason why Louie would steal the Captain's Rubber Ducky. That's the thing about material possessions, though; one person's treasure is another person's piece of complete junk cluttering up the ship.”
Misc. 33Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I'm marking this as Day _ since we touched down. It still seems unreal that we are 279,000 light-years away from home. This is exactly the kind of experience I've been longing for! I think that saving my home planet is going to be really good for my poetry writing.”
- Europe text: “It's been _ days since we first landed on this planet. It still seems unreal that we're 279,000 light years away from home. Sometimes I begin to question whether or not I am really still alive. What if, when the Drake crashed... No, I can't think about it. I just have to keep moving forward!”
Misc. 34Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Day _ since we first landed. It was rough going early on, but I'm getting used to it here. I wonder if maybe we could stay... Life on such a beautiful planet with an endless food supply?! How great would that be? Oh, but I can't think like that right now! Friends and family back on Koppai are waiting with open arms and empty stomachs!”
- Europe text: “Day _ since we first landed. It was rough going early on, but I'm getting used to it here. I wonder if maybe we could stay... Misc. 35Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “It has been _ days since we first landed on this planet. Trapped on an alien world for _ days, and I'm much more exhausted than I ever could have imagined. Our only comfort after _ days is the knowledge of how delicious the food on this planet is. It takes a lot of flavor to keep your spirits up after _ days. A lot of flavor...and a lot of fruit. I think I'm losing it after _ days...”

Misc. 36Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “It has now been _ days since we first touched down. I want to go home. I miss my family. I know this mission is important, though, so I will continue to soldier on. My hard work here will just make returning to Koppai all that much sweeter!”
- Europe text: “It's been _ days since we first landed on this planet. I want to go back to Koppai. I want to see my family...”
Misc. 37Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “It's been _ days since we first landed on this planet. I'm so tired. Tired as...as...as someone who can't even think of a simile. Even my poetry has left me.”
- Europe text: “It's been _ days since we first landed on this planet. I'm so tired... I've got nothing left to write.”
Misc. 38Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “I've had to cut everyone's rations now that we have more people on board, but at least it's 100% pure Piktamin U. Even if we don't get much, it provides all the nutrition we need. Considering that the rations we brought from Koppai contained only about 3% Piktamin U, we're incredibly lucky to have such nutrient-dense juice. I can't wait to get it back to Koppai for further study!”

- US text: “I'm not sure how I feel about throwing my crew members. To be honest, I feel more suited to being a throwee than a thrower. As captain, I am so often in the position of leadership and decision making that it's refreshing at times to have someone else take over the reins.”
- Europe text: “I have to say that I'm not entirely at ease with this crewmate-throwing business. Indeed, I feel more comfortable with being thrown into unexplored territory myself than I do picking up and throwing my own crew members. Also, I'd prefer always to be thrown by the hands of Brittany and not by Alph. Hmm...I should probably keep these thoughts to myself...”
Misc. 40Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “The only beds we have on this voyage are sleeping bags. Each member of the crew has found a favorite spot to sleep in. Alph takes the pilot's seat, while Brittany likes to be close to the food supplies. I prefer to be near the door to stand guard. Being ever vigilant makes restful sleep difficult, but as captain, it's just part of my job.”
- Europe text: “The only beds we have on this voyage are sleeping bags with cryogenic capability. Each crew member has found a spot where they can sleep securely. Alph takes the pilot's seat, while Brittany likes to be close to the food supplies. I prefer to be near the door to stand guard. Being ever vigilant makes restful sleep difficult, but as Captain, it comes with the territory.”
Misc. 41Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Based on the data file we found past the wall, it seems there is a Hocotatian on this planet somewhere. I've heard stories about their zeal for treasure hunting, but I'm shocked to find one of them all the way out here in the far reaches of space. This Captain Olimar who created this memo must be quite the explorer!”
- Europe text: “Based on the data file we found over the wall, it seems there is a Hocotatian on this planet somewhere. I've heard stories about their zeal for treasure hunting, but I'm shocked to find one of them all the way out here at the far reaches of space. The Captain Olimar who created this memo must be quite the explorer!”
Misc. 42Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Based on the contents of the memory data we received from the captain, it seems that our cosmic-drive key is in the possession of a Hocotatian. Looks like we're going to make alien contact! Regarding talking with aliens, the Drake's expedition manual states: "Smile a lot and don't flip out." Hrm... I think I can do that.”
- Europe text: “Based on the contents of the data file we received from the Captain, it seems that our cosmic drive key is in the possession of a Hocotatian. Looks like we're going to make alien contact! The advice in the Drake's expedition manual regarding talking with aliens is, "Be nice." I think I can manage that.”
Misc. 43Edit
- Character: Unknown
- US text: “This alien, Captain Olimar, whom we believe to possess our cosmic-drive key, just took all of our food and ran away! This must have been his plan all along! I can't even imagine how he could've thought that far ahead... But never mind. We have to find him as soon as possible!”
- Europe text: “This alien, Captain Olimar, whom we believe to possess our cosmic drive key just took all of our food and ran away! This must have been his plan all along! I can't even imagine how he could've thought that far ahead... But never mind, we have to find him as soon as possible!”
Misc. 44Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “We've been able to juice the fruit on this planet for use as our daily food supply. It has been quite effective in furnishing us with the necessary nutrients, as well as giving us juice smiles. The fruit supply on this planet is so abundant that it seems virtually limitless. We need to collect as much of it as we can as quickly as we can.”
- Europe text: “We've been able to juice the fruit on this planet to provide us with daily rations. It has been quite effective in furnishing us with the necessary nutrients, as well as putting a smile on our faces. We don't know yet how abundant the supply is, but clearly we need to collect as much of it as we can.”
Misc. 45Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Today is Day _ of our mission. We've gathered _ pieces of fruit. This planet boasts a stunning variety of fruits—each one more delicious than the last! Some types are tart enough to pucker your face inside out, while others are sweet enough to pop your eyeballs right out of your head! Those are highly unscientific descriptions of tastiness.”
- Europe text: “Today is Day _ of our mission, and so far we've gathered _ pieces of fruit. This planet boasts a stunning variety of fruit, each one seemingly more delicious than the last. Some types are tart enough to pucker your face inside-out while others are sweet enough to pop your eyeballs right out of your head! Those are highly unscientific descriptions of tastiness.”
Misc. 46Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Our exploration of the planet has reached Day _. We've gathered _ pieces of fruit and have secured a decent number of seeds as well. We will be able to save many Koppaites with what we have collected thus far; however, we are still in need of more. We will all need to put our backs into it. After all, that fruit isn't going to pick itself!”
- Europe text: “Our exploration of the planet has reached Day _. We've gathered _ pieces of fruit, and have secured a good number of seeds as well. We can save many Koppaites with what we have collected so far, but we could still use more. I'll have to get Alph and the Captain searching harder. After all, that fruit isn't going to pick itself!”
Misc. 47Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “Pikmin are short but the days are shorter! The KopPad's "Go here" function can help us budget our time! One crew member can pluck Pikmin at the Onion, and someone else can command Pikmin elsewhere! We will encounter many different and difficult scenarios, but the ability to multitask will be key to our success!”
- Europe text: “The days on this planet are short, and we have to use time efficiently. The KopPad's 'Go Here!' function makes that possible. We can have one crew member return to the Onion and pluck Pikmin, while another leads Pikmin to attack creatures. Delegating tasks in order to complete complex assignments on time... That's one of the skills that makes a first rate captain!”
Misc. 48Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “Man, this place is wet! Lotta water, lotta plants. It's good, though! I can feel the humidity even through my suit. This place is suitable for vegetation and vacation. We should be able to find plentiful food supplies here... I might also want to look into opening a Koppai resort in the area.”
- Europe text: “This place is wet, and the area we explored today was wetter than most. I could feel the humidity even through my suit. But lots of water means lots of plants. It makes sense that we'll be able to find a good supply of food here...”
Misc. 49Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “I've never been a sucker for flowers, but man, this place really takes my breath away! I've never seen flowers so big! I mean, they're such huge monuments of beauty and life and... It's just so... It makes you think about what really matters... Excuse me for a second. I think I got some spacedust in my eye...”
- Europe text: “The flowers on this planet are truly beautiful. The area we explored today was full of enormous specimens, quite unlike anything we have back on Koppai. I can't help but wonder... Surely any woman would be bowled over if presented with a bouquet of such giant blooms?”
Misc. 50Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “I gotta say, the plants on this planet are... evocative! Real evocative, yep! The leaves changing colors, the smells—it's all evocative of times past... Times lost. Times lost out there in space, with...things like water and stirring nostalgia and tickling sensibilities and whatnot. It all lets a Koppaite forget about the battle for just—I've been hanging out with Alph too long...”
- Europe text: “The natural landscapes on this planet have much to offer a man of refined aesthetic tastes such as myself. Being such an experienced ranger, I've travelled all over the galaxy and seen many an interesting sight, but I must admit that the plants and flowers here have moved me in a way that, even with my considerable powers of expression, I find difficult to describe.”
Misc. 51Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “We finally tracked down Captain Olimar, but some sort of mysterious life-form seems to be pursuing him relentlessly. We must get him back to the Drake! I don't know how much more we can take. There isn't any fruit here, and the crew's morale seems to be sinking... We must make this one last push!”
- Europe text: “We've finally found Captain Olimar, but it appears he's being pursued by some kind of bizarre life form. We need to try to get him back to the Drake, and escape from this labyrinth. In all likelihood this will be our final struggle. Unfortunately, though, there isn't a single piece of fruit here. Brittany's morale seems to be sinking, but I must get her to make one last push...”
Gameplay eventsEdit
These entries are picked whenever an important gameplay event happens during the day. Their purpose is to better explain to the player what happened, and what the player can learn from them.
Pikmin extinction with Alph aloneEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I lost all of my Pikmin. I wish the captain were here, as I clearly have a lot to learn about leadership. Tomorrow, it'll just be me all alone out there. I still have the Onion, though. Maybe I can find some way to get some use out of it...”
- Europe text: “I've lost all of my Pikmin. I wish the Captain were here, as I clearly have a lot to learn about leadership. Tomorrow I'll have no one to depend on but myself. But the Onion continues to follow me, almost as if it doesn't mind that all the Pikmin are gone.”
Pikmin extinction with Alph and BrittanyEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Oh, no! All our Pikmin are gone! If only the captain were here. It's clear we need some proper leadership. Tomorrow we'll have no Pikmin and no captain... What a disaster. But the Onion continues to follow us, almost as if it doesn't mind that all the Pikmin are gone.”
- Europe text: “Oh, no! All our Pikmin are gone! If only the Captain were here. It's clear we need some proper leadership. Tomorrow we'll have no Pikmin and no Captain... What a disaster. But the Onion continues to follow us, almost as if it doesn't mind that all the Pikmin are gone.”
Pikmin extinction with all leadersEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We're in a desperate situation. All of our Pikmin have been lost. Clearly, we lack even the most rudimentary understanding of what leadership is. Without their help, how can we continue gathering fruit? The Onion continues to follow us. Perhaps it can still offer us some help.”
- Europe text: “We're in a desperate situation. All of our Pikmin have been lost. Clearly, we lack even the most rudimentary understanding of what leadership is. Without their help, however are we supposed to continue gathering food supplies tomorrow? Yet still the Onion continues to follow us, almost as if it doesn't mind that all of the Pikmin are gone.”
Alph is down, aloneEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “My space suit took too much damage, causing me to lose consciousness. Thanks to the emergency teleporter, I'm still alive, but the Pikmin who were fighting alongside me were all left behind. If I'm going to save Koppai, I need to pay more attention to my suit's damage meter! I'll note it down on the lower-left corner of the screen.”
- Europe text: “It appears my spacesuit took too much damage, causing me to lose consciousness. Thanks to the emergency teleporter, I'm still alive, but the Pikmin who were fighting alongside me were left behind. From here on, I must pay more attention to my spacesuit's power meter in the lower-left corner of the screen.”
All leaders are downEdit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “We were careless. Our space suits took far too much damage. Luckily, we're still alive, thanks to the emergency teleporter. However, the Pikmin fighting alongside us were left behind. We need to pay more attention to the damage meter in the lower-left corner of the screen! If one of us is in danger, we can always switch leaders.”

Low food 1Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I've polished off the last of our juice on board. We Koppaites aren't very good at controlling our appetites. Maybe we should've packed more supplies. We're not very good at making plans, either. I need to find something to eat tomorrow.”
- Europe text: “I've polished off the last of the food on board. We Koppaites aren't very good at controlling our appetites. I'll have to find something to eat tomorrow, or else...”
Low food 2Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We're close to exhausting the remaining juice on board. It would make things so much easier if we had more willpower. It would also be nice if we just had more juice. Then we wouldn't have to worry about willpower! We need to find more fruit tomorrow...”
- Europe text: “We've exhausted the ship's food supply. Unfortunately, willpower and planning ahead don't come naturally to us Koppaites. Our home planet aside, right now we ourselves are in danger of starving. We absolutely must find some food tomorrow...”
Low food 3Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “My food is gone. I didn't pack enough of it, and I didn't ration it out very well. I need to find Brittany, but getting food will have to take priority tomorrow. I'm starting to see visions of tasty treats floating through space. I wonder what space tastes like...”

Bomb rocksEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “That strange rock the Pikmin picked up... I'm not sure what it's made of, but a powerful energy can be felt emanating from its cracks. It seems likely that a sufficient impact would cause an explosion of energy. Used properly, rocks of this type could be powerful weapons, but they could also do us some harm. A double-edged sword to be sure...”
- Europe text: “That strange rock that the Pikmin picked up... I wonder what sort of mineral it is? A powerful energy can be felt emanating from its cracks. It seems likely that a sufficient impact would cause it to explode. Used properly it may make a powerful weapon, but if we're careless it could also do us harm. A double-edged sword, to be sure...”
Ultra-spicy spray, Charlie experimentEdit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “When sprayed with Ultra-Spicy Spray, the Pikmin's movements became more brisk than usual and they became incredibly eager. Secretly, I tried spraying it on the captain as an experiment, but it had no effect in particular... Unfortunately, I reckon it's not effective on Koppaites.”
- Europe text: “When I use the Ultra-Spicy Spray on the Pikmin, it seems to invigorate them and they become more nimble and energetic than usual. As an experiment, I secretly tried spraying it on the Captain, but it had no effect... Sadly, I must conclude that it doesn't work on Koppaites.”
Ultra-spicy spray, Alph experimentEdit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “When doused with Ultra-Spicy Spray, the Pikmin's movements became more brisk than usual and they became incredibly eager. Secretly, I tried spraying it on Alph as an experiment, but it had no effect in particular... Sadly, I must conclude that it doesn't work on Koppaites.”

Pikmin massacre 1Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “I feel terrible! We lost so many Pikmin due to my own carelessness. As a leader, I still got a long way to go. Times like this make me wish the captain was here... I have to keep going, however. That's what the captain would want me to do... I can't let this loss be in vain!”
- Europe text: “I feel terrible! We lost so many Pikmin due to my carelessness. As a leader, I've still got a lot to learn. Times like this make me wish the Captain was here... I have to keep going, however. That's what the Captain would want me to do... In memory of the Pikmin we've lost!”
Pikmin massacre 2Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Not the best day... We lost several Pikmin. One of us needs to step up as a leader that the team can count on. Times like these I wish the captain was here... We have to go on, though! We can't let the loss of those Pikmin be in vain!”
- Europe text: “Not the best day... We lost lots of Pikmin. We badly need a leader that the team can count on! It's at times like this that I really wish the Captain was here. We have to go on, though! We can't let the loss of those Pikmin be in vain!”
Pikmin massacre 3Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “A moment of silence for the Pikmin we have lost today... ... ... ... OK, that's enough. Losing soldiers is something you never quite get used to. But it's our responsibility to go on. And go on, we shall.”
- Europe text: “A moment of silence for the Pikmin we have lost today... ... ... ... Losing comrades is something you never quite get used to. But it is our responsibility to go on. And go on we shall.”
Pikmin behaviorEdit
These entries reflect findings about Pikmin behavior. Entries about a specific Pikmin type need that type to be discovered before they're chosen, naturally.
Pikmin 1Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Pikmin always transport their spoils back to the Onion. Upon close observation, it appears that a pellet carried by Pikmin of the same color will spawn greater numbers than one carried by Pikmin of a different color. If there are multiple colors of Pikmin, a majority of same-colored Pikmin will spawn more sprouts. I wish we had more time to simply study these creatures...”
- Europe text: “Pikmin always transport their spoils back to the Onion. Upon close observation, it seems that a pellet carried by Pikmin of the same colour as it will spawn greater numbers than one carried by Pikmin of a different colour. If Pikmin of various colours carry a pellet, it appears that the majority colour will count for this rule. If only we had more time to study these creatures...”
Pikmin 2Edit
- Character: Unknown
- US text: “A flower blooms on Pikmin who drink nectar. After carefully observing these flower Pikmin, I've noticed that they are faster than the normal ones. It would be good to have these flower Pikmin around when moving resources or objects.”
- Europe text: “A flower blooms on Pikmin who drink nectar. After carefully observing these flower Pikmin, I've noticed that they are faster than the normal ones. It would be good to have these flower Pikmin around when there are pieces of fruit or other objects to be carried.”
Pikmin 3Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “It's hard to tell what goes on inside the head of a Pikmin. Sometimes, they seem to behave in an almost trancelike state. The yellow nectar is definitely a big hit with them, though! They don't have eyes for anything else when that stuff is around! They were so happy after gorging themselves on it... I miss my family.”
- Europe text: “It's hard to tell what goes on inside the head of a Pikmin. Sometimes they seem to do everything almost as if they're in a trance. When they come across the yellow nectar, though, they break ranks and it's a scramble to see who can get to it first. And they always seem so happy after gorging themselves on it...”
Pikmin 4Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “The leaf on a Pikmin's head can develop into a bud or a flower. It appears that if Pikmin sprouts are left in the ground, these leaves will develop over time. This is very much like a plant, and yet once they are plucked out of the ground, they have eyes and limbs like the cutest creatures ever! So fascinating!”
- Europe text: “The leaf on a Pikmin's head can develop into a bud, and then into a flower. It seems that if a Pikmin sprout is left in the ground, these developments take place over time. In this way they appear very plant-like, and yet once they have been plucked they show their animal aspect. A completely fascinating creature...”
Pikmin 5Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “Even Pikmin that are drowning in the water and panicking will try to return to their leader when whistled at. If I see other Pikmin who are panicking, I should probably keep calm and try whistling at them.”
- Europe text: “Even Pikmin who are panicking in water and are at risk of drowning try to return to their leader when called with the whistle. If I see Pikmin who are panicking for any reason, I must remember to keep calm myself and try whistling at them.”
Red PikminEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “After observing the Red Pikmin, I've come to the conclusion that they are actually fully resistant to fire. They also appear to be extremely ferocious fighters, despite their appearance. They remind me of the captain in that way.”
- Europe text: “Red Pikmin are fully flame-resistant, which means that they can handle fiery environments with ease. Furthermore, you might not think it to look at them, but they attack with great ferocity and are very useful in a fight. In that respect, they're pretty similar to the Captain!”
Rock PikminEdit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Rock Pikmin are as hard as rocks, so they do a lot of damage when thrown directly at a target. Considering how dense and chunky their bodies are, their legs are surprisingly slender. How they manage to support themselves is a mystery to me!”
- Europe text: “I've been observing the Rock Pikmin, and it appears that they are capable of delivering quite a powerful blow when thrown directly at a target. Considering how dense and chunky their bodies are, their legs are surprisingly slender. How they manage to support themselves is a mystery to me!”
Yellow PikminEdit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Fascinating! The Yellow Pikmin actually have a lower body density and can thus be thrown higher than the other Pikmin! This is in addition to their ability to manipulate electricity and the appearance of their adorably large ears.”
- Europe text: “Fascinating! Yellow Pikmin actually have lighter bodies than other types of Pikmin and can thus be thrown higher. Incidentally, their ability to handle electricity appears to be entirely unrelated to their delightfully large ears.”
Winged PikminEdit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “After observing these Winged Pikmin, my conclusion is that they are not very effective in combat. However, since they possess the ability to fly, they can be extremely useful for accomplishing certain tasks. I will keep an eye out for any opportunities to utilize their unique ability.”
- Europe text: “Having observed the Winged Pikmin in action, I have to conclude that combat is not their strong point. However, since they possess the ability to fly, they can be extremely useful for accomplishing certain tasks. I will have to keep an eye out for any opportunities to utilise this unique ability.”
Blue PikminEdit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Careful observation of the Blue Pikmin has revealed that they have the ability to swim as well as attack in the water! The way they open their mouths is so cute, but I think that is their way of extracting oxygen from the water. There appear to be openings on their cheeks that resemble gills.”
- Europe text: “Careful observation of the Blue Pikmin has revealed that they have the ability to swim as well as attack in the water! The way they open their mouths makes them look like they're laughing - it's very cute but in actual fact I think that this 'laughter' is the Blue Pikmin using their gills to breathe underwater.”
Special entriesEdit
These entries are written during special occasions.
Day 60Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “Sixty days have passed since we landed on this planet. My only pleasures are in the juice and the hot bath I get at the end of each day. Luckily, water is plentiful on this planet, and my crewmates always let me have the first soak. Even so, I can't help but get a little creeped out by the captain's rubber ducky. It just floats there, staring at me...”
- Europe text: “60 days have passed since we first landed on this planet. My only pleasures are in the juice and the hot bath I get at the end of each day. Luckily, water is plentiful on this planet. Alph and the Captain always draw the bath and let me have the first soak. Somehow I always find the Captain's Rubber Ducky floating there and staring at me, though. It's a bit off-putting...”
Day 80Edit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “We've managed to survive 80 days here, far from our native Koppai. And it's all thanks to this planet's fruit. I was assigned to this mission to study the plant life, and if I've learned one thing, it's just how important these plants are to our survival. When I get back to Koppai, I'll show everyone how we can manage our botanical resources for the greater good!”
- Europe text: “We've managed to survive 80 days here, far from our native Koppai. And it's all thanks to this planet's fruit. When I get back to Koppai, I'll show everyone how we can manage our botanical resources for the greater good!”
Day 90Edit
- Character: Charlie
- US text: “Since we arrived on this planet, 90 days have passed. We've explored just about every corner we can reach. Still...I can't help but wonder about the other side of this planet. What could be there? It piques my curiosity as an explorer, but I suppose it's not worth the risk this time. Right now, it's more important to think about how to get home!”
- Europe text: “90 days have passed since we arrived on this planet. We've explored just about every corner we can reach. Still...I can't help but wonder about the other side of this planet. Got all fruitEdit
- Character: Brittany
- US text: “We've completed our mission and harvested all of the edible matter from this planet. Everyone on Koppai will be so happy to— Oh, but now I'm getting ahead of myself! We still need to get the cosmic-drive key! Let's track that thing down and be on our way!”
- Europe text: “We've completed our mission and harvested all of the edible matter from this planet. Everyone on Koppai will be so happy to- Oh, but now I'm getting ahead of myself! We still need to find the cosmic drive key! Let's track that thing down and be on our way!”
Some time without Captain CharlieEdit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “The weather here varies quite a bit from area to area. We would've been frozen had it not been for our space suits! I'm certain that the captain is still alive somewhere in this tundra. That man never takes his suit off...”
- Europe text: “The weather here varies quite a bit from area to area. We would have been frozen into icicles in no time today had it not been for our spacesuits! I'm certain that the Captain is still alive somewhere in this tundra. That man's a hero. He never takes his suit off.”
Final day (day 99)Edit
- Character: Alph
- US text: “We've now exhausted all of our juice, and there doesn't appear to be any more fruit available on the planet. There's only one course left for us. We have to retrieve our cosmic-drive key, and we have to do so tomorrow. If we don't, we are going to be in very serious trouble indeed...”
- Europe text: “We've now exhausted all of our juice, and there doesn't appear to be any more fruit available on the planet. There's only one thing for it - we have to retrieve our cosmic drive key, and we have to do so tomorrow. If we don't, we are going to be in very serious trouble indeed...”
NotesEdit
- The entry "Misc. 35" in the US version is too long to be displayed properly, and the text cuts off after "I think I".
- The system used for making voyage logs relevant to the player's progress through the story is the same system used to control objectives, among other things.
