Events are special periods in Pikmin Bloom where in-game rewards are prominent and unique things can happen.

They are announced sometime before they happen, in the news section of the main menu, via emails to those who have signed up to receive them, on social media, and on the Pikmin Bloom website.

Pikmin Bloom's first Community Day event occurred on November 13th, 2021. It was set to run from 9:00am to 6:00pm local time, however, due to network issues making players unable to access the game, it was extended to run to 8:00pm.[1] Bonuses of this event included:[2]

  • Big Flowers bloomed into pansies when regular flowers were planted around them.
    • This effect started the day before and continued throughout the weekend.
  • Users who walked 10,000 steps or more earned a special Community Day Participant badge.
  • Fruits gave twice the nectar.
  • Seedlings in the Planter Pack grew at 1.5 times the normal speed.
    • To have received this badge, players needed to log in to the game at least once in the 2 weeks after the event.

This event was announced on November 4th, 2021,[3] just 9 days after the game's global release.

Pikmin Bloom's second Community Day occurred on December 18th, 2021. It was themed around poinsettia flowers, and lasted for the whole day. Bonuses included:[4]

  • Players achieving the 10,000 step goal on this day were awarded a special poinsettia flower badge.
  • Seedlings in the Planter Pack grew at 1.5 times the usual speed. This effect was stackable with the flower planting multiplier.

This event was announced on December 2nd, 2021.[5][6] During this event, the step counter on the main menu was replaced with a special poinsettia-themed step counter graphic, which linked to the news menu when tapped before reaching the goal, and the badge's information page after reaching the goal. (This made the regular step counter inaccessible.) This step graphic returned in every subsequent Community Day event, with different theming to match each event's promoted flower. Following the event, Mushroom battles gave poinsettia nectar instead of pansy nectar.

It started on December 21st, 2021 after being announced the day before,[7] and finished on January 11th, 2022. This is the first event to introduce limited-time special Decor Pikmin. There was another effect of this event which was announced later, which was that coins will be earned 1 for every 250 flowers planted instead of 1 for every 500 flowers planted, capped at 60 coins per day, and lasting for the duration of the event.[8]

  • The event added the "Flower Card" type of Decor Pikmin, with 24 varieties, 6 each for Red, Yellow, Blue, and Purple Pikmin.
  • Pikmin with these costumes were grown from Golden Seedlings.
  • The weekly challenges during this 3-week period all gave a Golden Seedling when completed.
  • The other way to get Golden Seedlings was by completing missions. There were a total of 20 missions, each requiring some basic task to complete, and each one was unlocked after completing the previous one.[35]

This event was announced on September 4th, 2022.[36]

Flower Card Decor missions

  1. Plant 1,000 white flowers
  2. Pluck 2 seedlings
  3. Defeat 3 mushrooms
  4. Plant 5,000 white flowers
  5. Walk 15,000 steps
  6. Pluck 3 seedlings
  7. Defeat 1 red mushroom
  8. Plant 5,000 red flowers
  9. Walk 20,000 steps
  10. Pluck 4 seedlings
  11. Defeat 1 yellow mushroom

  17. Walk 30,000 steps
  18. Pluck 6 seedlings
  19. Defeat 3 mushrooms
  20. Plant 10,000 flowers

There were some complications with the first mission. Initially it was to walk 10,000 steps, but no steps were counting towards it. After a few hours, it was changed to "Plant 1,000 white flowers" for people who hadn't opened the app yet, and a few hours later, people who had started the mission when it wasn't working had it automatically completed even if they hadn't walked 10,000 steps yet.[37][38][39]

To note is that missions referring to a specific color of flowers actually counted all flower types of that color, not just the basic type. For example, planting white spider lily flowers or white rose flowers would count towards missions requiring the planting of white flowers.

Event Challenge, May 2023 - Kick Back with the Sneaker Keychain Decor Pikmin!

The event challenge tab, showing a player completing the first section of stage 1.

Starting from May 8th, 2023 a new system for events was established, and the events tab was replaced by the "event challenge" tab. This tab displays a green tile featuring a big flower at its centre, with a circular track arranged around the big flower, which is split into four sections. Beneath this, missions are shown with various requirements for completion; steps taken, flowers planted, Pikmin grown, petals plucked or mushrooms destroyed. The player's Mii is displayed marching upon the track, and will advance as missions are completed, leaving a trail of flowers behind them. As each of the four sections is completed new missions will be presented, and the big flower in the centre will grow through its phases; from a few tiny shoots at first, to a sprout, then a bud, and finally into a bloomed big flower once the challenge stage is completed. Upon completion the challenge stage will advance, awarding the player a golden seedling of the month's limited-time decor, and placing them upon a new track with a new big flower to grow. There are four challenge stages in total, each with their own missions. Upon completing the fourth stage the player will reset to the first stage and begin the process anew.

The roulette screen of the event challenge tab, both before and after spinning the roulette.

When a mission is completed, tapping its entry will bring the player to a roulette screen displaying six items, with one of the player's Pikmin beneath. These items range from various kinds of regular and rare nectar types to a golden seedling. Tapping will cause the item roulette to begin revolving, and tapping again will cause the roulette to slow, stopping as the Pikmin jumps and taps the winning block, with the Pikmin waving happily as the prize is displayed. If the player does not tap the second time, this process will eventually conclude on its own.

Promotional art for the event.

From May 8th, 2023 through until after May 31st, 2023, gold seedlings from event challenges and referral codes reward players with Sneaker Keychain decor Pikmin. During this period these decor Pikmin are stronger when battling mushrooms.
