The following is a list of miscellaneous tasks that need to be done on the wiki, be it by me or anyone else. Thing is, they don't really fit in any {{todo}} box or project. Or maybe they do. Either way, I've got so many of them, and they're so old and disorganized, that I think it's best to just list them here, so they don't stay forgotten on text files in my hard drive any longer.
Tasks
- Possibly upload renders: from [1] and [2].
- Figure out why we have File:Pikmin 2 logo.png (with some revisions and new shadows) and File:Pikmin 2.png.
- Hey! Pikmin stuff
- Confirm that all European treasure names have articles (redirects), and are also mentioned in the treasure and area articles as alternative spellings.
- Categorize all Secret Spot screenshots with pellet and obstacle categories, when applicable.
- Document Marty's videos.
- Document technical info about treasures and fruits, like how we do about P2 enemies.
- Somehow document which enemies can be defeated by Pikmin left alone. e.g. a Red Pikmin can eventually defeat a Fiery Blowhog, since it can never be killed by it, and even if it gets bucked off, it'll eventually get up and run to the enemy.
- Task-related in-article boxes should be colored or styled differently than reader-information boxes.
New articles
- Character article policy
- Navbox for real world articles (e.g. frame, TAS)?
- Myths and rumors (I already have a draft for this)
- Pikmin 3 slides?
- Instruction manuals?
- Replay
- Stereo? Few things in the games (besides music) make use of stereo sound, so it'd be interesting to document them.
- Reset?
- All Pikmin Adventure enemies should have an article, with variants going in the same article.
Research
- Twilight Princess and its prototype have a texture of the Spherical Atlas, as per TCRF, except I can't find this texture anywhere in the game files proper. This needs to be found, confirmed, and then documented.
- Also, that game also uses the Waterwraith's "fb" texture.
- Red Bulborbs in Pikmin use keyframes and interpolation for some animations, but discrete frame poses for others. This can be seen in the in-game animation editor. It'd be nice to find out which enemies do this, and with which animations, and if there's any logic or anything of interest surrounding that information.
- Try to find unused enemy animations in all games. This will require animation viewers, or swapping used animation files around and checking in-game...
- It's been speculated Snitchbugs in Pikmin prioritize hunting down Pikmin with bomb rocks.
- In all games, including re-releases...
- Re-research how carrying tie-breaking work.
- When and how Bulborbs and Bulbears burp.
- Apparently if you force a type's extinction inside of a cave, and you exit the the cave with 95 Pikmin, one of the wild Blue Pikmin in the Awakening Wood will be sent to its Onion? It might be a non-Japanese-version-exclusive thing.
Maybe?
- Move all Pikmin stats into a stats table in the article's body, much like how enemies work.
- Change "EU" to "EU/OC". Or maybe come up with even better region terms than the ones we use today, somehow...
- A "development history" section for enemy articles, documenting what they looked like and were called in prototype versions and trailers.
- Document some parallels with measures in the real world.
- How poisonous would White Pikmin be if they were real?
- Measure each area's real world size, more or less.
- Considering it can destroy concrete, how strong is a bomb rock?
- List warnings about things that could be cumbersome for the player?
- Like how you can lose the Libra if you're not careful.
- Or how having Winged Pikmin carrying fruit over water, then whistling them, could result in fruit being underwater, inaccessible until you get Blue Pikmin.

- Replace "April Fool's" with "April Fools'"? That's what Wikipedia calls it now. Probably more trouble than it's worth.
- A category for unlockable content?
