The Wayward Moon is a fruit in Pikmin 3. It is a green cantaloupe found once in Story Mode, in the Garden of Hope. It is worth 3 total bottles of juice, the most out of any fruit, tied with the Crimson Banquet. It is spat out by the Quaggled Mireclops after its defeat, along with Louie. There is only one in the game. The captains seem amazed by its texture, and as shown in a secret video, Louie is fond of the smell. In Mission Mode, the Wayward Moon is found in the Beastly Caverns, located to the immediate southeast of the starting area. Its value is 1,000 Pokos, the most out of any whole fruit (again, tied with the Crimson Banquet).

How to obtain

For tips on defeating the Quaggled Mireclops, click here.

The Wayward Moon is dropped by the Quaggled Mireclops. Since Louie is the object of most importance, send Louie ahead before trying to collect this fruit. It is the heaviest whole fruit in the game, so it is advised to put the maximum of 30 Pikmin on it, and to refrain from letting Winged Pikmin carry it, as winged Pikmin carry objects slower. All enemies should have been taken out, but there might be a Dwarf Bulborb on the way back.

Notes

Brittany's American Comments

"Once you get past the tough, cratered exterior, this fruit is a refined, almost delicate flavor. Kind of reminds me of the Captain, except he's all exterior."

Brittany's European Comments

"Once you get past the coarse, cratered exterior you'll find that this fruit is delicate and sweet on the inside. That's probably how the Captain sees himself, actually. Personally I think the resemblance ends at the coarse, cratered part."

Trivia
