This ship part is required for the S.S. Dolphin to escape the planet.
Weight 30
Max. carriers 50 Pikmin
Location The Distant Spring

The Zirconium Rotor is a ship part found in Pikmin. The part is made of rust-proof Zirconium and was in near-perfect condition when Olimar found it. The part is found in The Distant Spring, in the same area where you can find the Gluon Drive, or the Abstract Masterpiece in the Pikmin 2 variation of the map. The Zirconium Rotor does not change the appearance of the Dolphin in any way, but is a nessesary part to beat the game.

Notes

Discovery Notes

"It's my Zirconium Rotor! This is made from rust-proof zirconium, which is particularly suited to making spaceship parts. I had to pay a lot extra to have this installed, and I suspect the mechanic overcharged me."

Ship Log

"Made of rust-proof zirconium, it is as shiny as new, despite being left out in this planet's harsh elements."

Collecting the Part

The Zirconium Rotor, with several Pikmin carrying it.

First enter The Distant Spring, where The Zirconium Rotor is located. You will find it near the Gluon Drive. Get six Yellow Pikmin and get some Bomb Rocks. Destroy the reinforced wall and kill the two Yellow Wollywogs near the white gate and have about thirty Blue Pikmin knock down the white gate. Once finished, have them carry the part back. Note that you don't necessarily have to kill the Yellow Wollywogs, but can guide them out of the way.

If the reinforced wall is not broken down, the Pikmin may also carry it behind the complex of tree stumps and enter the landing site through the backside. However, the other way is quicker, but only aids you in the recovery of the Zirconium Rotor, while the other route is used in recovering many other pieces.

Trivia

  • In real life, Zirconium is a gray-white transition metal, which resembles titanium. It is also highly resistant to corrosion, just like it was as described in the game.
