Red Pikmin's infobox say that they have a "1.5 digging speed" thus faster than the average but slower than Yellow and Rock, but as that isn't mentioned here, I won't mention it either just in case.

I managed to get Pikmin attach to the "main body" exactly where the tail is, and the Groink DO still use its mortal while Pikmin are attached in the same place as the tail. So this appears to be fake, at least on this version, maybe it is true on the Gamecube or Japanese ones.
