Artistic map of the Awakening Wood.
An overview of the area

The Awakening Wood level is an area in Pikmin 2, the second in the game, and can be accessed after retrieving the Spherical Atlas from Emergence Cave in the Valley of Repose. The area is Summer-themed, with grassy terrain, and contains objects and features that might be found in a garden; the great number of Pellet Posies make it arguably the best place to land to produce Pikmin. These features, along with its layout, make Awakening Wood very similar to The Forest of Hope from the original Pikmin game. During one point Olimar says because of how much the Forest of Hope has changed, he changed its name to the Awakening Wood.

The radar pattern from The Forest of Hope overlaid onto a map of the Awakening Wood, showing their similarities.
The layout of The Forest of Hope, for comparison.

The region bears four caves and seven treasures in total, which sum to 765 Pokos in the NTSC version of Pikmin 2 and 805 Pokos in the PAL version. It is also the location of the first Blue- and White Pikmin in the game, both of which are required to reach further areas.
