When plucking a Seedling or when a Pikmin receives its Decor, a short discovery animation will play, based on the Pikmin's type and the decor it's wearing. You can replay the animation by going into the Pikmin viewer menu, selecting a Pikmin to see its information, and tapping on the Pikmin.
Standard Pikmin
- Red Pikmin: Jumps and waves its left hand.
- Yellow Pikmin: Leans forward and stretches backward with its eyes closed.
- Blue Pikmin: Does a quick upward stretch with its eyes closed.
- White Pikmin: Leans forward and shakes its head from side to side.
- Purple Pikmin: Stamps its right foot on the ground.
- Rock Pikmin: Stamps its right foot on the ground, faster than the Purple Pikmin.
- Winged Pikmin: Flies in a vertical loop and shakes its head.
Restaurant
Looks up at its chef hat and holds its head.
Cafe
Quickly hides in its cup.
The designs of the cups are based on enemies from the other Pikmin games.
- The Red Pikmin has a white cup with a brown stripe, like a ??.
- The Yellow Pikmin has a red cup with white spots, like a Bulborb.
- The Blue Pikmin has a black cup with yellow lines, like a Pyroclasmic Slooch.
- The White Pikmin has a yellow cup with green spots and a green base, like a Yellow Wollywog.
- The Purple Pikmin has a cup with purple and grey stripes and a red handle, like a Fiery Blowhog.
- The Rock Pikmin has a white cup with brown spots, like a Whiptongue Bulborb.
- The Winged Pikmin has a cup with purple and blue stripes, like a Puffy Blowhog.
Sweetshop
Spins around like a ballet dancer.
The designs of the macarons are later referenced in Pikmin 4, where they appear as treasures. Interestingly, these Decor Pikmin existed in the game at launch, even though Pikmin 4 wouldn't release until around 2 years later.
- The S.S. Berry resembles a Red Macaron Decor Pikmin.
- The S.S. Chocolate resembles a Yellow Macaron Decor Pikmin.
- The S.S. Peppermint resembles a Blue Macaron Decor Pikmin.
Movie Theater
A piece of popcorn falls off and the Pikmin picks it up again.

Waves, and then notices that the pinchers of the beetle "wave" as well. The Pikmin then unsuccesfully tries to get the pinchers to "wave" again.
Waterside
There is a bug where the Fishing Lure Decor Hook physics were not working as intended when viewing the Pikmin in its menu. However the preview had the correct physics. Rock Pikmin were unaffected.

The sections of banana that each of the banana-wearing Supermarket Decor Pikmin fit together.
- The Red Pikmin, Blue Pikmin, and Yellow Pikmin's sections create a whole banana when placed end-to-end.
- The White Pikmin's slice fits between the Purple Pikmin's two slices.
- The Rock Pikmin has the bottom part of a banana peel, and the Winged Pikmin has the other end.
The banana Decor are referenced later in Pikmin 4, as the Slapstick Crescent (a banana treasure) in that game has the same sticker on it.
