The Nova Blaster is a rocket part of the S.S. Dolphin in the first of the Pikmin games. It emits a powerful burst of light which is able to destroy anything from stars to rifts of space. It is unknown why a cargo ship like the Dolphin would have this weapon, however. It is assumed that its purpose is as a means of defence against space pirates. The brochure of the Nova Blaster says that the blasts could travel through the currents in space.
