Unused graphics

A cropped image of the radar icons to focus on the Green Onion.

In a spritesheet containing various icons for the radar, there is an unused icon for a light green Onion after the other Onion types. It is unknown what it might have represented.

Save file images

In the folder for the images of areas used on the saved game selection menu, which contains images for all the night expeditions, there are unused images for night expeditions set at The Central Flame and The Maple Bridge in the Giant's Hearth and the Primordial Thicket respectively, which do not have night expeditions unlike most bases. Oddly, these images focus on the Lumiknolls more than the night expedition save file images that are used, which show more of the area around them. The Distant Summit base in the Sun-Speckled Terrace, which also doesn't have a night expedition, does not have an unused image.

Pikmin type parameters

A page of a notebook handed out at the 2014 Nintendo Game Seminar, featuring concept art for several Pikmin type-related ideas, including ones not making it into any of the games.
A piece of Pikmin 3 concept art, featuring various Pikmin type ideas.

Various parameters for Pikmin types include unused parameters for a "Bean" type. There are no models or other information about this Pikmin type. A piece of Pikmin 3 concept art features a Pikmin shaped like a bean, so it is possible that this type was considered for the game early in development.
