The Dusk Pustules (ムラサキタワワ) are fruits found in Pikmin 3. They are actually a cluster of purple grapes, and collecting one cluster yields one container of juice (half in Ultra-Spicy mode). In story mode, they appear three times: in the Garden of Hope, the Distant Tundra, and the Twilight River. The Dusk Pustules, along with their counterpart, the Dawn Pustules, are unique in the way that they are obtained: they are collected like fragments, being individually plucked, with Pikmin returning to the grapes until all have been collected. In Mission Mode, the Dusk Pustules appear in five stages, and are worth 200 points.

This article is about the red grapes in Pikmin 3. For the green grapes, see Dawn Pustules.

The Dusk Pustules (ムラサキタワワ?, lit.: "Purple Abundance") are fruits in Pikmin 3 and a treasure in Pikmin 4. They are actually a cluster of purple grapes. In Pikmin 3's Story Mode, they appear three times: in the Garden of Hope, the Distant Tundra, and the Twilight River. The Dusk Pustules, along with their counterpart, the Dawn Pustules, are unique in the way that they are obtained in Pikmin 3: they are collected like fragments, being individually plucked, with Pikmin returning to the cluster until all fruits have been collected. In Pikmin 4 the entire cluster is just one object, and it appears in the Doppelgänger's Den and the Primordial Thicket.

In Bingo Battle, the fruit is only accounted for after the final piece has been delivered to an Onion. When that happens, the player that collected the most pieces is the one that gets the square. If both players collected 10 pieces, they will both be awarded the squares. Finally, if both players get 10 pieces, and both had the Dusk Pustules as their one-away, the player who brought the last piece will be given the square, and will win the match.

There is a cave beyond the gate, and inside it, there will be a set of elevator platforms, with some Dusk Pustules just beyond them. Collecting the treasure

The strategies shown are just suggestions.

Doppelgänger's Den

There is a cluster of Dusk Pustules hanging from a cobweb near the southwestern corner of sublevel 3 of the Doppelgänger's Den. To collect this treasure, you must be blown from the nearby fan onto the moving platform, jumping onto the metallic platform with Oatchi when you reach it, and then continuing to ride the platform to its southernmost point. Then, throw 15 Pikmin at the treasure.

Primordial Thicket

There is a cluster of Dusk Pustules sitting on a rock ledge on the western edge of the overworld. To collect this treasure, you must throw 15 Pikmin at it. There is toxic sticky mold nearby, so it is wise to clear that out before attempting to transport it.

Notes

Brittany's notes

US version US version
There's something very charming about all these little beads of juice—it makes me feel like we'll never run out of fruit! The color reminds of something... Oh! Auntie Bea's hair! She has such a rebellious streak...
European version European version
There's something very charming about all of these little beads packed full of juice. They make me feel like we'll never run out! The colour reminds me of something... Oh! It's Auntie Bea's hair! She has such a rebellious streak...

Schnauz's notes

Stare at the deep, dark orbs of this fruit, and you might fall into a hypnotic trance. But not to worry. The minute you take a bite, you'll be snapped from your reverie by a powerful blast of sweet juice. What a journey it takes you on. You may never want to return!

Olimar's notes

I've noticed that the skin contains a substance with antioxidant properties. That's probably why I feel so fresh and invigorated after I eat one. I wonder how I'd feel after eating two...

Louie's notes

If eating these raw, you'll want to remove the skin to avoid a bitter aftertaste. To make a juice, leave skins on and mash the fruit with your feet. Great for working out pent-up aggression!
