A good way to beat this challenge is to think outside the box. Go backwards in the course. You get 8 [[Purple Pikmin]] (5 from a [[Candypop Bud]], 3 from a [[Hydro Jelly]]) and 20 [[Ice Pikmin]] by plucking them. This will give you enough strength to lower down the [[Paper Bag]] that requires 100 Pikmin. Now, use the Candypop Bud to convert at least 2 Ice Pikmin into Purple Pikmin, giving you enough Pikmin to carry the onion and have a good offense; alternatively, Oatchi can be used since he will carry it faster via Swallow. Clear the path while the Pikmin are carrying the onion. You may choose to spend some time at the beginning to defeat the [[Waterwraith]], but that is not required- it's better to just destroy its rollers so it won't interfere.
