Terror Trench (きょうふの とおりみち) is the third main area in the Sweltering Parchlands. It takes place inside a cave that has many narrow hallways, and for most of them, some spiked pine cones show up from the ceiling in intervals and roll inside the hallways, eventually falling into the pit at the end of the path. Others even bounce against walls, or roll back and forth in a half-pipe. The player must wait in vines, stand on alternative platforms, or even outrace the pine cones to avoid losing their Pikmin.

The area takes place in a cave, which is mostly made of narrow hallways. Inside of those roll many spiked pine cones, that the player must avoid if they want to not take damage, or lose their Pikmin. In this level, Captain Olimar can retrieve the Sorcerer's Wand, after a corridor. To reach it, the player must use the jetpack. Then, Olimar can get the Self-Reflection Engine, hidden behind a fake wall, in a small nook. Finally, the player can retrieve the last treasure, the Extended Hand of Friendship, kept inside a Mockiwi. Afterwards, Olimar can reach the exit, placed after a long hallway. The player must be careful with this one, because some spiked pine cones will appear and chase Olimar down.
