The '''Springjab family''' is a family of [[Enemy|enemies]] in ''[[Pikmin 4]]'', and currently consists of a single member, the [[Shearflea]], which belongs to the ''Suprictis'' genus.

The Careening Dirigibug is an enemy found only [[Cave|underground]] in ''Pikmin 2''. It has five balloon-like appendages that keep it suspended in mid-air. When approached, it pulls a [[bomb-rock]] out of its mouth and after a while, drops it, where it instantly become active and begins counting down.

The Shearflea is an [[enemy]] found in {{p4}}. They are small reddish creatures that resemble fleas. They can be found in several caves and the [[Hero's Hideaway]]. Unlike most enemies, when they grab a Pikmin, they don't instantly try to eat them. They instead attempt to jump away from the player and then eat them.

==Naming==
The family's name can be split up into two words: "spring" and "jab". The word spring references to how Shearflea leap towards the Pikmin, and jab is in relation to the way they impale Pikmin.

The genus ''Suprictis'' could be derived from ''supra'' and ''ictus'', Latin for "above" and "stab" respectively.
